I keep on thinking about how great Tayshaun would be for this team . Especially with the way hes being utilized right now.

I like Jose but Bosh is the most important player on our team. Jose doesn't command double teams and I am sure the scouting report on Jose doesn't say "excellent penetration, or dangerous outside threat" He is the type of point guard like Andre Miller, Mike Bibby. Not like D Will or C Paul is. Important Yes! Most important No! We just won without him.

It would seem after further research Will Solomon is better than I thought he was. At least for today he was. Good For You Will. I am happy to be wrong if it helps the Raptors.

that seems right may want to insert Kapono over A.P but given A.P's defensive role I see what your saying

I would CB and JO over Caldy. If they go out it would be harder for the Raps cause Solomon did a great job filling in for Jose

So, anyone still wants to argue the importance of our starting PG?

We still won a game without him. If it was Bosh that was out we wouldn't win the first game and against Orlando we would've gotten beat down badly

This team is not built around the pg position like it was in the past. Jose is important in that he has a good awareness of what the team is about, but I could see another pg replacing him without missing too much of a beat. The lack of depth at the 2 does put more of a burden on the pg though, so it would have to be more about replacing him with another guy and adding some depth.

I think it would be easy enough to argue that O'Neal is the most important guy in defining this team's identity. It's just a different team without him out there. The toughness he brings to the floor makes a big difference in what everyone else can do.

the only reason Jose is the most important raptor right now is because we have no backup for him - Bosh absence would be somehow compensated by O'neal and Andreea, unfortunately Will and Roko have imploded when asked to step up. So, from that perspective only, he's the most important player for us. Actually, imo the order of importance is Jose -> Parker -> Bosh -> O'Neal -> Bargnani. The 3 bigs are very similar in many ways, so it's easier to hide one's absence. Parker and Jose are unique on our team.

the only reason why u think jose's the most important is because we've seen in the orlando game what could happen, but u can also see in the heat game how jose wasn't really missed too much
if you look at last year when we had both tj and jose when Bosh was out, we completely stunk

true - but in all honesty, if I had to pick which game was a fluke, I'd vote in all confidence for the Miami game. Don't forget that Chalmers is a bottom 10 point guard, and even an average guard like Nelson had a field day with us.
