Default DimeMag: 5 Things I think I know about the Atlantic Division

Quote:
4. I think I know that 3 of the 5 teams in the division could be near the .500 mark.
Obviously, the Celtics have a chance at winning 60 games with the improvements they’ve made, but I also think that the Knicks and Raptors have a shot at winning 40+ games and making a run at the playoffs. There are so many teams in the East that are inferior or have serious question marks (Bucks, Pacers, Nets, 76ers, Wizards, Bobcats) that the Knicks, Raptors, and Celtics should be better simply by default since they’ve each addressed several weaknesses as a team. There is no question who the superior teams are in the East (Celtics, Cavs, Magic), but there have been a few teams that have made just enough improvements (Knicks, Raptors) that we should see a couple new teams come playoff time.

2. I think I know that Chris Bosh is going to have one hell of a season.
Regardless of your feelings if Toronto is a big or small market franchise, there is no denying Chris Bosh is one hell of a player. Averaging 22 and 10 shooting almost 50% from the floor last season, I’d put Bosh more in the 25 and 10 category this year, as we all know a big contract will be coming for him in 2010. To help Bosh, he now has a legit scoring threat with the addition of Hedo Turkoglu and Andrea Bargnani should be a monster next season. I’d expect Bosh to have a career-year with much more on the line not just personally, but with a city that has loved him for years.

"Raptors have a shot at winning 40+ games and making a run at the playoffs"

hahahahaa.

Way to go out on a limb.

3 potential allstars in the starting line up with Bargnani and some solids character 2's might make the playoffs.

Golden.

What have the Knicks even done this offseason? David Lee hasn't been signed, Nate Robinson hasn't been signed, if anything it looks like they might be worse. Assuming they lose Nate and Lee they've got three unproven rookies taking their spots. How does that translate to 40+ wins? They'll be irrelevant this season.

I wouldn't say irrelevant, but certainly a lot has to go right for the Bockers.... I hope they ARE good, I like the rivalry factor. Boston, Orlando and now the knicks..... games that count will be great for the raptors.

LOL - The knicks making the playoffs is as like as the Lebron coming to the Raptors.

Cheers

1. The Knicks haven't made any major improvements to justify 40+ wins.

2. IMO Bosh's PPG will stay around the same or even drop a little with Hedo on the team. Where Bosh needs to improve is on the defense end. Part of Bosh's value will depend on how well the Raptors perform this season.

Tell me about it, the only thing the Knicks will be making is the lottery draft.

Lee, Nate, Harrington, Curry and Duhon does not look like a lineup that can survive in the playoff race why? because they have no defense and Robinson is probably only in it for the fame and for his ego and shit. Plus no matter how high they score, they will get shut down by superior defensive teams because D'antoni did not learn yet that defense wins games in the playoffs not run-and-gun.

haha, have Nate and Lee even signed there yet? If not they will be at the bottom beside New jersey both fighting for Lebron.

Cheers

Bosh will not get 25 and 10. He will have more help and he will get around 20 and 11. The knicks cannot win 40 games let alone 4 with a core of Wilson Chandler and Danillo Gallinari. Who would want to join the Knicks in 2010? It's like joining an expansion team. There is not one team in the league that should lose to New York.

Don't forget the Grizzlies. They're like the new Knicks. This leaves but one question, what do you compare the Knicks to now?

I hate when people say this team will be battling for a playoff spot...As if its not necessarily good enough to win even the 8th seed. Give me a break. The Raptors will kill the Knicks this year by the way. The Knicks have done nothing really to improve.

1 thing I know about the author is that he's clueless about basketball.

no semi-knowledgeable person would put the knicks at 40 wins - that would be an unbelievable achievement.
