Please, he's a better defender, rebounder and in his career he's shown to be a better 3pt shooter. Now if you want to take the salaries into consideration you can do that but overall Gay is the better talent and i don't see Demar ever being better. But it's all a matter of opinion.

Have you seen Rudy's atrocious ball handling skills? I swear he averaged like 5 TOs a game, and was obviously inconsistent from 3pt. I like Rudy I'm just saying, don't go picking on DD when we should be cheering for him, he improved this year and we should be happy about that.

Besides, what derozan misses with his ball handling skills overturns because of his size and ability to pick and pop off screens, ESP off of Aaron grays screens

Holy moly, a quick check and you'd see RG averaged 2.6 TO's this year, which is a little high but considering how much he handles the ball not too bad.

I personally loved how DD and RG seemed to be hitting a high percentage of their 3's to end the year. I have a feeling these 2 will work hard together this summer and continue how well they ended this past year. It would be crazy to break that up without a full year to see. I also can't wait to see RG shoot after his eye surgery (I'm sure it will help now that he has his depth perception back - I'm positive he tried a contact near the end of the year as an experiment as imo his turnaround seemed rather quick). Just a thought.

I don't think it would be crazy to break them this offseason.

Congrats to Demar for making that list. But oh boy are the shooting guards in the NBA weak.

I don't understand why people can't criticize Demar. He isn't a good 3 pt shooter. He isn't a good a defender and he isn't a good ball handler. All of that is true. Has he improved ? Yes. But is he good at any of those things? No.

Less is more. More or less. But mostly less. Or should that be more?

I personally was not having a problem with criticism, and what you stated is an awful lot different from stating that he can't shoot 3s, can't defend, can't handle the ball. You can take in you're criticisms and still see him as a good basketball player, whereas the over-the-top stuff suggests that he is a poor, or even hopelessly bad basketball player.

i've learnt to ignore them. what's really the point on trying to debate with them when their only objective is to get you wound up. these over the top statements have continuously made them look like idiots, so i'll just sit back and continue to watch idiots look like idiots.

Good for Demar for getting some recognition.

Saying he's the future of shooting guards is cringe worthy, but props to Demar for improving year after year.

Hopefully Gary Payton and Demar spend some time this summer reviewing Demar's defense.

Manu isn't a top 10 SG on this list? hah... i realize his minutes are limited more than ever but he's still darn good.

Iggy should be way higher than 9.

I'd find a spot for Gordon Hayward as well.

Good for DD ...
Given he is a gym rat there is no reason to believe he can't continue to improve parts of his game. The one area that is more focus than practice is his willingness to be a pest on D ... we need him to step up in this area for us to have any chance of being better than average team in a weak Eastern Conference.

Btw, i just noticed Wade is 3rd. Is he really behind Kobe and Harden now?

It feels like the writer is ultra focused on the offensive side / scoring, which explains a lot when it comes to the other spots as well.

Curious, who would you consider the best 2 way SG in the league right now?

Stats are...interesting to say the least. According to the statistical data, for SG for 2012-13:

Stat Averages - DD ranks 7th
Stat Total - DD ranks 8th
Per 48 - DD ranks 21st

HoopStats.com

Allen Ranks 20th but how many here would take Tony Allen over DD?

Given age, it'd be hard to justify taking Tony over Demar, but he's better. In fact, Demar's numbers line up very closely with an aged Vince's but youth demands that you couldn't choose Vince over Demar at this point. I'd say defense between Vince and Demar is a wash too.

Hmmmm, I get what your saying. I just meant that rankings aren't all that concise when evaluating a player. Like T.Allen, his impact is far greater for the Grizz than DD's is for the Raps yet he is well below DD in rankings but I would take an Allen type player over a DD type player any day.

we agree, it's just that taking Tony Allen specifically now isn't the right choice for this team. We agree, Tony is a far more impactful player right now though.

DD is an old Vince at this point.... not a bad piece but you definitely want more if you're paying 38M over 4 years, otherwise just find a cheaper version like Dallas did and not tie up cap space. Same can be said with other mediocre pieces we have.

I wonder how many actually think DD is going to ever be a better player than, say, Iggy.... in the next 5 years.... given that Iggy is older, I'd say that's a fair window.
