Also, don't want to be crude but I remember last season or the season b4 dime listed LeBron as a top 10 POINT GUARD in the league in their top 10 lists.

The only thing ridiculous in this thread is somebody suggesting Carp is a great poster.

So in present day reality he can shoot 3's, defend well and is a good ball handler?

Carp is similar to Joey Graham in that he can't break down an argument without needing a dribble cup.

Are you going to feign ignorance to such a degree that you haven't seen any ability to shoot threes? How many long twos did he shoot at a good percentage to boot? The ability is there and it is pretty obvious to see.

Are you honestly going to say he cannot defend? Like you have seen absolutely no evidence of him defending well, let alone defending to any degree?

Now he has to be a good ball handler, otherwise he fits your criteria of being simply a bad ballhandler? He's not a bad ballhandler. His ballhandling improved a great deal just with increased strength and confidence this past season. I can imagine greater strength and further strides to come, but no - you're surely right that his abilities from three years ago are fixed no matter what the circumstances.

Who got outplayed by Demar on more than one occasion. And before you reflexively deny that, try recalling the loss to the Lakers for starters.

It's ludicrous, and yet in a way, sublime.

How about the ball handling, d, win shares/48 minutes (which is still below the league average), ts%, efg%, etc. Harden > DD. Thompson>DD. Given what Crawford and JSmith make it's far better value than what DD is set to make starting next season. JJ, well that contract is just horrible. He's still a pure scorer who has issues scoring (he really needs to work on his 3 pt shooting). He's improved, yes. However given what he was doing before it would be pretty sad if he wasn't able to improve on/upon that.
People complain that Demar is a volume scorer and as you have mentioned has scoring issues. Hey, he can get his shots up as long as he shoots a good percentage. Demar cannot be compared as the great ball handlers such as Harden, Crawford and Wade, but he has improved his ball hadling to the point where he has improved his free throw attempts and assists each year. With the regression and injuries of Andrea, Demar was pushed to option #1 on offense. With Rudy Gay and the development of Jonas, Demar as option #2 or #3 would be the best role for him and the team.

Why you gotta hate on Joey? Dude was the strongest guy in his draft class!

Those guys both have a calling card to hang their hat on - they play d and knock down some 3s (Kawhi also rebounds quite well). They also are not top 3 options on offense and don't need to be to be effective players. I don't think DD would fit those "checkmarks".

And who is responsible for the system?

Not sure that's true, but perhaps your golden goose is just a yellow duck. Maybe criticism is being overstated slightly, but not way overboard.

Hey, not every team has a Kobe Bryant or Lebron James on their roster. Just be glad you have a player considered as top 10 player in his position.

Nice article. Ranking seems good but I move Klay up one and move and Joe Johnson down a few. Not sure if below DD... but man... I dislike Joe Johnson's game.

I'm just saying the guy needs to improve and can't be measured solely on FG%. 2.5 apg isn't anything special. Yes it is an improvement but not anything abnormal. Also considering his contract he should be able to compare with someone like Crawford.
