Ugh ... tell me about it. Since I started playing hoops and indoor soccer again over the last couple weeks my knees have never been so sore. Time to shed about 20 to 30 lbs.

Cut down on the carbs, up the protein and do cardio on an empty stomach. I've already lost 15lbs. in one month.

Anyways, BC's plan is to develop Bargnani so that's good enough for me.
but wasnt that supposed to be the case when they picked up Navarro?
wasnt that supposd to make him happy?
it didnt work too well, more of a band-aid i guess.
but i'm sure he'll make noise in LA.
but as i said, he's a 18/9 guy who plays 65 games a year.
i dont know why so many people go apeshit over him.

i know i've been tough on bargs, but i like barg's potential... and i honestly think we could get better than gasol if we were to trade bargs/delfino et al.
shit, thats like josh smith trade bait IMO.... its too steep for gasol thats for sure.

gasol is a far from overrated as anybody, as a matter of fact, he might be the most underrated ... You'll see the Lakers becoming a dinasty now, I would be shocked if they don't win the next 3 titles, honestly.

Gasol wouldnt fit in Toronto because he wanted to play as a PF, not a center, and Bosh cant play center. Gasol was the MVP in the World championship, only real reason we won the finals was because greece sucks. It was the easiest game of the whole tournament. Gasol was esencial against argentina in the semifinals. I think Bargs can be a better player than Gasol.
I prefer Gasol in LA.

wow do i ever beg to differ on that one...

how can you call the guy underrated? people talk about him as if he's one of the best big men in the game... thats a laugh.
he is so badly overrated its not even funny.
the guy has never seen the playoffs first off, and if he was a "great" big man, that would not be the case.
his career avg is 18ppg, 8 rebs, 2.6 turnovers, 3 assists, 1.8 blocks....
his carreer best ppg is 20.
he's 7 feet and for that size is not a good rebounder.
and he's been doing this all on a shit team.
if he was so great he'd be putting up 25/12 on a nightly basis.

what the hell is so good about 18/8?
and on a shitty team for that matter?

he's so overrated.

just read this topic and see how many people are considering him a top big man? You are confusing overrated with "lots of media talks about him in the past week or so". But again, overrated vs underrated is tough to argue either way, since it's subjective to one's opinion. I see Gasol as the 3rd best PF in the game, after KG and Duncan, and if I'm right, Lakers should walk away with the title this season. However, most see Gasol as a pussy and a second-tier PF, not even in the same league with the likes of Bosh or Boozer ...

and on the same topic, do you think Yao is overrated? I mean he plays with TMac and Battier and had 2 good coaches, but his teams never won a playoff round? Who was Gasol's best teammates in Memphis? Battier and Atkins?

Bosh is better than Gasol.

I seriously doubt the Lakers become a Dynasty, HOWEVER, they now have an awesome lineup, point guard position aside. I also think they have a good chance at a championship this season.

Fisher, Kobe, Odom, Gasol, Bynum is an absolutely loaded team. Gasol is a great player; much like Bosh, though, he's a fantastic offensive player and not much on D. Fortunately for them, Bynum is bringing the D.

With that said, saying they'll be a dynasty is a bit of a knee jerk reaction, no? Wasn't Boston the dynasty, with three all-stars in their prime who want to win so badly? Now it's LA; in a week it will be Phoenix when the Shaq deal goes through and he tells everyone he's in the best shape since 2001 or whatever...

It's hard to predict the rest of the NBA season, let alone the next three. Maybe LeBron finally gets some help; maybe another former all-star goes to Detroit; Maybe the Mavs finally get a deal done, etc.

Yes. Yao is another big softie. 7'6, doesn't protect the paint.

At this point in their careers, Gasol is >>> than Bosh, he's smarter, much better passer and a better defender. He's actually a very decent defender against 4s, he's a much better shot blocker and it's not like Bosh did miracles in the playoffs, one more performance like last year against the nets, and he'll probably start getting labeled as a choker.

Yao is tall, but he's not that strong. Maybe he's not as good as he could be with his height, but come on, name me 3 centers that are better than him overall ...

Ok let me add my .2 on trading Bosh for Gasol.... ARE U NUTS!!

Lakers didnt give up anything close to the realm of Bosh like talent to get him but we should have? Gasol might be a "nice" player but he is soft IMO and will be exposed in the playoffs as such.

Also the "intangables" that ppl love to talk about are all in favor of CB4, that guy is a natural born leader, a great team guy, a great face for the franchise and wants to be here. Along with always working hard, improving area's of his game all the time, and being a huge matchup problem with his length and quickness for basically every team in the league, i mean his guy draws doubles almost on a nightly basis and still gets his 20+ 10+.... i would love to get a big man, even a softie like Gasol but

Bosh & Calderon = untouchable!! (unless u talking King James, Kobe and that ilk, i dont move them for any1 in the league, much less a soft euro who hasnt proved he can take a playoff beating that will come to him this year).

But im a nut sometimes so feel free to disagree

The grass is always greener on the other side.

Bosh is a better scorer, a slightly better rebounder (I'd argue). Gasol's a slightly better defender but neither is that great - Tim Duncan is leagues ahead of both, as is KG. Bosh goes to the line WAY more too.

Plus we all forget that Bosh is only 23 (soon to be 24). He still has a couple years of improvement left in him before he hits his prime. Gasol's 28 later this year...
