I donít know that Iíve seen Bargnani as physically engaged as he was last night and there was some toughness that Iím pretty sure few of you saw the best part.

It was right in front of us, late in the fourth quarter and Tyler Hansbrough, far more a goon than a basketball player, knocks Bargnani over in the paint.

Thereís no call Ė of course, those three refs were terrible Ė and Bargnani is super pissed off.

So whatís he do?

He starts to get up, sees Hansbrough and bumps him, trips him and knocks him down.

All the time, Bargnaniís woofing at any Pacer in his sight, it truly was unusual to see.

Bargnani barked at David West, at Roy Hibbert, he took shots and gave them and if he plays like that consistently, a lot of you are going to like him.

I'm almost certain that was Hibbert he did that to, not Hansborough. Speaking of that play, I was really impressed by how he stood up to him there. Matching Indiana's physicality was why we were able to win this game.

My guess it was Magloire's work behind the scenes. Probably working him mentally and physically.

i would not be suprise if casey send Jamal talk to barg during his time out. because, i rewatch the game, and it was like he was on fire, ready to eat every body.
and it didn't totally tranfert in stat, but his defense was tough.

It's almost as though Beli called him up and said that if he wants to play for Chicago he has to be sure to not let Indy run roughshod over him, and to go one better and run roughshod over them. Or he got support from his teammates after being booed, and so he decided to play basketball appropriately.

There's also one thing about Bargnani that is pretty consistent - if he has fresh legs he plays pretty well. The motor runs. Get into a stretch where the legs fatigue, and he brings it in the first quarter.

I thought it was Hibbert as well, but mostly due to hearing Matt say Hibbert's name, and it could be possible that he boobed. Between Doug's brain, Matt's brain, and my brain, there is no way for me to be too certain which guy with a name that starts with H was involved.

I remember Jack going on late in the 4th about Bargnani getting into it with someone. My guess is this is what he was refering to.

No it wsa Hanborough. I watched the game and even made a comment about that in the game thread last night. Was good to see it though. If Magloire was on the court, he would have gave him a hard screen with his shoulders

I guess same thing happened with Hibbert than because I remember him knocking Bargs down when going for a layup. Then Bargs tripped him and I remember Hibbert's huge body taking forever to get up off the ground.

Either way Il Mago was definetly making his presence felt!

He stood up to West, Hibs and Hans....i believe it was hans for that exchange. I was very happy to watch how frustrated Hibbert was getting because of Bargs. I also liked how Casey pulled JV off West (I think West) and had Bargs defend him late in the fourth. Was just a nice all around performance for a player coming back from an injury.

it comes to a point where it doesn't hurt to stand up for yourself and the team
guy comes at you and you know you're not in the wrong, then go back at him, you have nothing to lose
really at the end of it all, if there's some kind of tussle that comes out of it, what do we have to lose, they can lose hibbert their main centre, we can lose Bargs who although he is a larger part of our team on paper we've learned to play without him, so there isn't as much of a loss

The last thing I want is Bargs to be traded to a good team and looking like a monster on D and putting 20+ PPG... and then we look like fools for trading him. If he can put 15+PPG with good D I rather him stay here off the bench. I like Amir, but he ir still very foul prone. If Bargs can bring it and explode in the first quarter as 3rd option, I don't see why trading him for player like Boozer who is 32 with a problematic contract.

so Bargs finally steps up and magloire gets credit? This is the first time Bargs has pressure on him of possibly being moved, I'm pretty damn sure magloire has absolutely nothing to do with it
