Devlin: Player update

Tons of good info today... The intrasquad game tickets go on sale and I stopped by the ACC to watch some informal workouts yesterday... Some 5-on-5...here's "the run"... Bosh, Bargnani, Belinelli, DeMar, Jack, Wright, Amir, Quincy, Sonny, Rasho and O'Bryant...The Raptors worked out and played pick up for about two hours... The league doesn't allow formal workouts to begin until next week. Jose was scheduled to get into T.0. last night. Hedo is expected to arrive on Saturday. After just playing for Turkey this summer, BC is cool with him getting some rest before he comes to town. Reggie Evans, will be in Toronto over the weekend as well. From my understanding Reggie has school aged children, so he wants to get them situated and comfortable and for those of us with kids, we all understand how important that is. Banks isn't in the city yet. Wait until you see Bosh, WOW! The 15 pounds he added are noticeable, I jokingly called him Arnold. Wright can flat out defend, he can match up against 1's, 2's and 3's, DeMar showed a mid range game, Amir is active on the boards, Rasho was in mid-season form with his passes and Bargnani went to the rim with authority. This team, unlike last year, is deep! There will be a true battle for minutes during camp! On to the Question... # 5... We all remember the games last season, so I don't want to revisit them... Too painful. But here's the situation... Down one or two points with time running out and the Raptors need to score. Where do they go? Last year the Raptors had one true option Chris, this year they have multiple options, specifically Hedo Turkoglu. Hedo can handle and create his own shot, something the Raps didn't have last year. He works well with others and can spread the floor, creating massive issues for defenses. You can put him in a high mid pick-and-roll with Bosh, Bargnani, Jose, Jack and it will be a nightmare for teams to cover. He provides a skill set the Raptors didn't have last season. With him on the floor it will make Bosh, Bargnani, et al., more potent in those late game situations thus creating more options. Here it is, the Question. How improved will the Raptors be this season in late game situations? Much improved and here's the proof... Kinda comforting to know we got this guy!
Arnold? Man, Devlin is soooooooooo cheesy!

I don't like MD. I don't have a good reason for it, just don't like him.

I didn't love Chuck, but he was OK. MD isn't even OK. He sucks.

I miss Chuck.

And his bald head.

I like bald heads in general. *wink* *wink*

Sure to a degree. But he's head and shoulders above Matt Devlin in my eyes. And i'm not alone in feeling that way.

Head and shoulders among all the cheesiest of the cheesy.

My recommendation to anyone that misses Swirsky - just watch the game. I barely hear a thing any of 'em says anymore. I think it's an ability you get when you're old.

To be honest, i wish E. Smith would take over for Matt Devlin and Leo would be canned. E. Smith & Jack have good chemistry together. Demote Matt to radio. lol

Yeah - I could live with that, but I could also care less. Just give me a good game with no schmaltzy schtick.

Of course the game comes first, but the crowd and a good call of the game only adds to it imo.

Leo is the worst. I still can't believe that that no experience clown is the coach of our national team.

Leo managed to get Canada into the world's next year-something that hasn't been done since the Nash days-so he can't be all that bad. He's doing something right to get the team there.

Eric Smith would be great for the job, I like him a lot.
Chuck was very entertaining in small doses, but day after day I was really getting tired of the recycled jokes. Devlin is sooo boring, and often misses completely what happens on the field, which is vey bad imo. For some reason, I really can't stand leo, but at least he's not out of touch with the reality on the court.
