DeRozan vs. Evan Turner?

Simple question, which young guard would you rather have?

And show your work. :reporter:

Evan while having a slow start to his career looks like he is going to be good at almost everything (Passing, Shooting, rebounding, dribbling & scoring)

While DeMar has shown us two things (Dunking & Scoring)

Neither is a good defender...

I would choose Turner.

Dunking and scoring? I've yet to see any of that this season.

Evan Turner has more potential to be a great player, he can do it all & more than DeRozan.

Turner has more experience playing for a professional basketball team. But I would take either in a heartbeat.

Put Demar on Phili and Collins would squeeze him in the 8-man rotation.

I love Doug Collins' 8 man rotations.

That's basketball.

Anyone who voted for Evan Turner is a shitty fan, myself included.

RaptorsandBuckeye FaN 01-21-2012 09:29 PM

Scorer? DD
Rebounding? Turner
Passing? Turner
Defense? Turner
Athletic Ability? DD

Evan Turner is a Buckeye so he gets my final vote! :D

Turner. He's a jack of all trades. Derozan's an athlete. And not a spectacular one at that.

LX 01-21-2012 11:16 PM

I'd lean towards Turner right now, but it's entirely possible that I'd lean towards DD a year from now, or at least see them as being roughly equal.

If Turner played in Toronto and Demar in Phili, this poll would be turned 180. It's all about environment and the team.

word kind of hard to look bad on a 11-5 team

Can we frame this by saying Evan Turner was picked 2nd overall in his draft?

RaptorsFan4Life 01-21-2012 11:58 PM

Where is the option for Weems? :reporter:

I agree! Where is the option for the Weems factor?

I believe he is the reason for DeMar's not so stellar play...

Cartmen 01-22-2012 07:26 AM

I wish we had Turner instead of Demar

DDUnreal 01-22-2012 09:56 AM

Demar needs weems to preform. Forbes just doesnt hit that same spot for demar.

RAPMAN 01-22-2012 11:52 AM

What we have seen from Demar this year, he cannot be a No. 1 option or possibly No. 2 option. He is a complimentary player. He has trouble handling double teams and has a limited offense because he cannot break his man off the dribble. However, he has a great mid range game and will succeed as No. 3 option on a good team. People should not focus on his weaknesses, so what if he is not your No. 3 or cleanup hitter in baseball, but he is definetly a building block for the future.

Agree, but we all had such higher hopes for him...

Don Vito 01-22-2012 12:28 PM

DeRozan can't even score/stand out on a shit team with a shit roster. With Bargnani and Bayless out there should be no excuse to fly under the radar, he should be tearing it up scoring 30+ a game. If he was on a good team like the Bulls he would be a non-factor, he would eventually be buried in the bench.

powerfulpanda 01-23-2012 11:29 AM

even marshon brooks who was drafted 25th last year in a shit draft is already a better player than derozan. he's doing the same things DD does expect better and as a rookie, and also on a shit team

Marshon Brooks has done this his whole college career, he dropped because he went to a crappy school. It's pretty retarded that he was ignored until he up 52 on a Notra Dame.
