DeMar DeRozan was the worst three-point shooter in the league last season, connecting on just 5-of-52 attempts from beyond the arc.

DeRozan hit 5-of-8 threes Wednesday night against the Cavaliers, putting him at 10-for-16 on the season.

“He has really improved his three-point shooting,” Raptors coach Dwane Casey said following the win against Cleveland. “Now he opens up the floor for everybody else because now you have to honor him with spacing. He doesn’t necessarily have to have the ball, but they have to honor him and that opens up the roll. It opens up the weak side for 3-point shooting. Just his improvement on his three-point shooting is going to help us out a lot offensively.”

Cool, he can shoot 3's. Now start driving to the basket again and then we can talk. :reporter:

We are who we are. Which is pretty much like any fanbase. :cookie:

still both teams are projected to be better than us, and new york is supposed to be a playoff team. they still had their best player and there best defensive player to stop us. and lets not forget they were at home and we have our share of injuries as well.

I know ours dont add up to significance of amare, but considering the talent level we have (or lack thereof), they still affect our chances.

Lets not take away from our wins, we played hard and beat teams sopposedly better than us. but ya i agree that eighth seed at this point is wishful thinking at best.

Cleveland projected to be better than us? Since when? I'm not taking away from the wins, hell or even the nice showings vs Dallas/Orlando and our overall play. Just saying, let's not lose our heads here. lol

demar's improved but it will be tough to eclipse the improvements he made rookie to sophmore. He went from a nothing with raw pontential to one of the better mid range shooters in the game hitting tough shots by years end. it'll take an allstar calibre season to get similar improvements in terms of production and he didn't even win it last year

huge golden shower on the teams hopes

jrob23 01-05-2012 03:14 PM

Kyle Lowry, Ty Lawson, Ryan Anderson if he can keep this up

Derozan would score wayy more and the game would be much easier for him if he starts driving and getting to the line. I haven't really seen much of that from him this season. He needs to get back at how he was attacking the basket last year and use that 3 point threat only to keep the defence honest.

He needs to be an inside out player and not fall in love with that jumpshot.

when demar plays his post up game, hes way more effective than when he starts shooting

Bargn88 02-04-2012 02:39 AM

I think AB is the most improved player thus far, JJ also should get some consideration.
