Derozan isn't a go to guy.

I think it is a bit unrealistic to expect him to play well without better offensive players. He's a 3rd fiddle guy whos in a first option role and likewise his efficiency has shown that.

jeffb 02-01-2012 09:59 PM

Yep, he's a solid #3 guy imo. If we can get a solid SF who can be a 1b to Bargs 1a then we can see better results hopefully. BC better really do some magic this summer, it's make or break for him in this city.

DDUnreal 02-01-2012 10:00 PM

so its a break.

DVS 02-01-2012 10:03 PM

Even though he isn't a first or second option. I don't blame Casey in pushing him. This kid has more credentials than any other player on this team. Grow some balls and try to win more games for this team.

fk24 02-01-2012 10:08 PM

It's a bit frustrating when you watch him play. He'll get to the line but miss his free throws. Or he'll get to the rim and brick the layup. His mid range shot and finishing at the rim took a complete nose dive this season.

Bankiz 02-01-2012 10:22 PM

i don't blame any player (except jose) right now.
2 week of training camp base on D.
and what 5 training session since ?
so no i don't blame Casey, nor DD, nor amir for now.

also we really need to bring here more talent. that is true.

being patient is our best option for now.
for sure, i don't knwo if i will stay up at night to see the game live.

DD:
when your PG give you the ball in the corner when two guys guard you, it's not easy even for lebron or else.
the offense isn't quite in place, and when you play big defensive team whom play the same roster for some years with the same coach, the same mentality.... nothing to add.

give them time. maybe not this year, but next season with a real training camp, and a summer league for our young to play, that can be different.

and maybe in february, where we will play more at home, and have some training session we will see improvement.

be patient. but trade jose.
BC did you heard Casey yell at jose to push ? if not go to the game and make it happen.

I don't get this...Don't blame any player but Jose? He has been really solid this year, it isn't his fault the guys he dishes too, ( aside from AB) throw up airballs.

He hasn't been solid. If the pick & roll doesn't work he ends up dribbling the ball till the end of the shot clock & makes a pass or shoots it himself if he is open which is the reason why he gets so many assists because he is the last person to pass the ball. He doesn't make his team mates better which is why a lot of our players are struggling & he is one of the worst defenders in the league.

shenmui 02-02-2012 01:31 PM

Why so fret?

ooooh, because of the 8pts scored last night? Don't worry, he just relaxed himself to be ready to lead our revenge against the Wizards.

DDUnreal 02-02-2012 01:33 PM

Watch the game, its not all about the points

exactly my point.
Casey scream at jose on every offense possession. so if you trade him, or even trade another player to get a pg who can accelerate the tempo more often, you will see guys less struggles.

about DD. you want to see him gone. so i suppose, amir too, and barbosa too. why not all the team and then sell the team to kansas city. LOL.

bargs put 6 season to become good, and he play only 13 games this season. so i will be patient with him too.
so give DD credit. every years he has improve something.
this season he has improve on defense. just a little, but during the road trip he took 1 charge at least per game. that is not nothing. he understand better the defense now, even if he seems lost most of the time against a great sg (allen, Joe Johnson, etc..).

i remember last season, october-november-december he was shy like now, he struggles, and like this season, many people shot at him. we learn after that he has some injury. whatever is the problem now, when he will figure out what he can do, he will put 20ppg, and then the same people as now will say : "he is part of our futur, don't trade him."

he is not for now the player around whom you build a team. but he can be a niece piece in this team.

don't get me wong, i like the kid, i also know that he is not a Lebron or a kobe.

and the team don't seach for him to put halley-hoops to sad. make him going !

Year Team G GS MPG FG% 3P% FT% OFF DEF RPG APG SPG BPG TO PF PPG
09-10 TOR 77 65 21.6 0.498 0.250 0.763 0.9 2.0 2.9 0.7 0.6 0.2 0.81 2.29 8.6
10-11 TOR 82 82 34.8 0.467 0.096 0.813 0.9 2.9 3.8 1.8 1.0 0.4 1.76 2.65 17.2
11-12 TOR 23 23 33.2 0.379 0.295 0.770 0.6 2.9 3.5 1.4 1.0 0.3 2.17 2.65 14.1
Career -- 182 170 29.0 0.461 0.196 0.793 0.8 2.5 3.4 1.3 0.8 0.3 1.41 2.49 13.2

we can all see that is less than last year, but also the system in offense is less open for now.

for me, i will wait until after the all-star to judge anyplayer on this roster.
because they will have more home games and also more training session at this time. the system should be more implemented than now.

in the beginning of the season most of us said that this season was not about win/loss, but about knowing what we have in this team. and i think the staff as the same thing to do evaluate, and also adapt the system to the player you have. (that's what phili, MIL and OKC did)

for all of those whom where thinking casey was a magician, and will just by his presence think this team would be a contender, be patient is the best advice for anyone, and any player.

I know it's not only about the points. I've always said DeRozan is still the void tactically expeciallly. I remember some plays of him: shoots with 15 seconds left, attacks the rim with the defense lined up. Damn, I still remember when he tried to go against Howard. He has to improve a lot to become a good player. Oh, to clarify, I think he can be a nice player, but he won't never be the franchise player every raptor fan expected, for sure.

DDUnreal 02-02-2012 01:50 PM

I duno who expected a franchise player out of him...Most people thought he could be a 2nd option but thats it

Kuzzy 02-02-2012 05:16 PM

How in the world is he a solid "#3" guy? Whether or not he is a deserving starter would make for a better discussion.

He is in a "mediocre" franchise, which actually we are. In a stronger franchise he won't be for sure (and I think nobody will disagree with me about this).
Just Bargnani and Calderon will be, but this is another topic of discussion not concerning DeRozan.

LilRomeo 02-02-2012 07:57 PM

Whatever. I was expecting either Taj or Jennings.

Beans 02-02-2012 10:29 PM

Your mom's drunken friend slurs "Derozan is a go-from-guy" and then chuckles to herself.

rapsmannn 02-03-2012 05:29 AM

you know what watching demar derozan has done to me after watching his basketball games with the raptors this season

recording every college game that is worth while aired in canada, just watched hte baylor vs texas a.m, georgetown vs uconn game, also recorded the north carolina game the night before

players that played in those games,

perry jones
lamb
drummond
barnes
quincy miller
henson
marshall,

the player i liked the most was a guy named jackson, baylor pg which is a player i never heard but this guy can ball

not impressed by any of them, cant see them makign any kind of difference in wins next year if we end up wtih one of these players, doesnt seem to be a kyrie irving out there, and the other best prospects are bigs, so we might be fucked when it comes to the draft

ur right, none of those guys you listed i was impressed with, with the exception of perry jones. however, he's really just a very good jump shooter. his fadeaway jumper is very impressive tho.

someone you left out is anthony davis. if we have 1st pick, thats who i want to draft. watch some kentucky games, you'll know what i'm talking about
