*shrug* matter of opinion I guess. He's overmatched on the defensive end on a nightly basis and he has a ton of pressure on him right now to deliver offensively.

For a 2nd yr player he's doing alright.

Doesn't exactly inspire confidence.
the next game where derozan will work his ass off will also be his first ... I really like his improved offense, but his effort is lacking as much as Bargnani's.

Do you know that derozan is ranked 26th in the league among SGs in rebounding (per 48)? As opposed to 28th for Bargnani among centers? Demar is very athletic and taller than the average guard and he should really be a much better rebounder, especially when paired with a center who leaves plenty on the table, and especially when he's not usually camped at the 3pt line like many other SGs.

He's also ranked 37 in steals among all SGs, which is quite appalling.

Both Derozan and Bargnani are the biggest slackers in the starting lineup (when kleiza and weems are out ...) and neither have any right to complain about losing.

Even Amir, he was supposed to be a hustle player, and yet he's only 19th in rebounding and only marginally better than bargnani. He's also below average in steals and merely average in blocks. For a player who brings little on the offensive end, that's quite disappointing.

The fact is other than davis, wright, bayless and evans, nobody on this team busts their asses for most of the time.

derozan also has hops too. No reason not to get the rebounds.
Rebounding and steals come with experience. Reading the opposing teams plays and reading where the ball will be going.
Barbosa is great at this.

I'm guessing that doc Rivers giving him a pat on the back had a little to do with starting to try to get him in a green jersey by the time PP is ready to hang up the sneakers. He's starting to be able to do some of the things Pierce does, and it's not hard to fathom that his defense will come around.

So - maybe teams like the Raptors just end up being part of a farm system of sorts. It's starting to look that way more and more. Hopefully the trend turns around.

well let's just enjoy his lackluster and inconsistent effort for the next 4 years and appreciate those athletes that do indeed exhibit loyalty and integrity...

i understand he's frustrated with the losing but at the same time we all knew we'd be a bad team this year, if he didn't know what all the public knew then he's got more problems than just losing
besides, a lot of players around the league are on losing teams, when it comes to the Raptors every "star" on our team goes through losing, in fact this is really his only real experience with losing consistently, last year we almost won half the time, so he's only gone through like half a season of real losing, he really shouldn't be that frustrated
bosh went through like 4-5 years of that with us
VC would've but he was actually good so he made our team good
the best way for demar to stop being frustrated and to start winning is for him to improve even more and get the team to start winning starting from himself
i said this in other topics, he's improved and the other teams are starting to notice, a lot of them are adjusting and putting a double team on to get the ball out of his hands and make him turn it over, and its working, so now its up to him to learn how to pass out or get out of those double teams
so he needs to start developing that vision or better ball handling, better yet, both
right now when he's double teamed its almost an automatic turnover for him
