Respect to DD, you can tell how angry he is. Props are cheap and take too much time. Bringing in the car, putting the toy back up, bringing in the second net. What I wondered is McGee's dunk. My friend pointed something out, he dunked on one net before the other before dunking it in the second net, shouldn't the first one count? Whatever, it would have been better if he dunked them at the same time with the same amount of power.

To me, DD's dunks showed more talent, athleticism, and creativity. He had the pure wow factor just like Vince had at the 2000 dunk contest.

Kenny Smith should be banned from commentating the dunk contest... He gets on my nerves so much.

Interestingly enough, DeRozan is not a good in-game dunker. Fabulous champs of the past, like MJ, Dr. J, Wilkins, VC as well as the modern stand-outs like Howard or ...gasp... Griffin dunk a lot in games, while DeRozan, frankly, finishes fairly weak around the rim, especially in traffic. Could that have been the real reason?

Hey DeMar, what about that "Crazy Chicken Dunk" that RapsTV was advertising? That seemed to use a few props.

Well DD, Dwight, and Blake play different positions. DD's main focus this year was be a second option and improve his mid range game than dunking. Plus its harder to dunk from the SG position than from the PF or C position imo. Plus you don't need to have creative dunks to win a game, just more points than your opponent. Plus I don't think they factored how good of a dunker they are in a game into the competition.

I'm pretty sure nobody here grew up watching dunk contests with all this prop trash. I'm actually really dissapointed in the judges for buying into this crap. They were supposed to be the pioneers of this contest. You can go ahead and laugh when I say this, but I think dunking is an art. It could be considered another sport imo. I mean to see how much "prop" dunks have changed in the past 20 years... It went from dunking over chairs, to phonebooths, cupcakes, choirs... I don't blame Dwight for changing the "prop" dunk because his are actually pretty tolerable. But this dunk contest made me lose it.

+1

Wilken, Clyde, Dr J were the pioneers of dunking and set the standard while VC set the bar imo. I hate all these props shit. What happened to shear creativity, power, and talent?

Playing a two-guard or a SF position didn't stop MJ, Erwing, Wilkins or VC from dunking on people during games, creatively or otherwise, and doing it a lot.

I love how every year they say the Dunk contest is back. It's just been a cheap part of all the showmanship that now lies outside of the actual dunk altogether. The Nate debacle was worse. The league has become about entertainment. It's WWE.

I'd suggest it's more about age and physical maturity for DD at this point.

What amazes me is..

"Asked if he would reconsider, DeRozan said he would only compete again if the All-Star game is held in Toronto or if the rules are changed to eliminate props."

+1 to that.

I don't normally mind him, but there was way too much of him this all star weekend and was getting annoying
