It made me laugh that Thug was "very troubled" over this. Oh internet.

He has lost his confidence. People say last offseason that he should develop a 3 point shot. He should have improved his handle. Demar was hitting threes and his perimeter shot early in the season. He fell in love with the jump shot, but when his perimeter game abandonded him, he should've drove to the basket more. With more talent around him where he does not have to be option no.1 or no. 2, Demar can thrive with his limited offensive skills. This would be Demar senior season in college. He has averaged 14 to 15 pts per game and shot more than 45% in prior years. Give me a wing player with that type of production and FG% with Jonas and our 2012 draft pick, and its a solid nucleus. Demar is a keeper. Right now its a bad team.

Given his struggles ... Will make it easier to sign him to a better financial contract. Not a bad thing when your trying to build a winner.
He is still young and I believe he will become a decent starter ... I have never seen Star abilities, but I'm hoping to be wrong.

did some one check his stats :
DeMar DeRozan Career Stats Page | NBA.com

you see that he his as 22 a40th player in this league in almost everything. Not that bad. with some confidence, i will say he can be a 20-25th player in this league.
not that bad for our second otpion.
yes he struggles, yes he is in a slup right now. BUt i remerber strech in his 2 first season where he has that type of game. not a big deal, since we are only on a 1/3 of the season and most of it on the road.
20 games (13 road - 7 home) and plus tomoeeow and the long strech on the road to come, this team can stil flip the corner at home in february and march.
they will have more time to practice. that would make a big difference.

DD is a young prospecy still, and in the beginning of the season, many see him as our star. maybe he will be. but don't put all the pression on him.

i would say, for now, the offense system don't work without bargs. because nobody open the floor for penetration, and even bad defense can block the penetration if you don't strech their D.

but i concede that DD don't go to the basket like he use too. i don't surch for FT as much as last season.

he is still the player who plays the more minutes, and he shows some defense the last two games. yeah he takes somes charges. that a +.
if he was a 18ppg, 5rpg, 3apg, 1.5stpg, 1bpg + 2 charges, we will be fine. i'm sure he can do it. he has some upside left.

Answer to DD's issue... pound the ball through the ground every day, both hands, same time, hire ten kids to chase him around and try to steal it off him... all day long.... every day, for the next year!

the guy simply just takes too many ill-advised shots
his jump shot is too inconsistent and his drives to the net are too predictable, he has no in-between game, and he's always looking to draw the foul before trying to just take it up strong and make the shot, his ball handling is terrible and when he gets the ball he feels obligated to take the shot

agreed.... his shot selection is brutal.... many of his moves often result in him taking more difficult shots than his original starting position and it's mostly due to his poor handling and lack of an explosive first step.

That what happens when you are on a crappy team with no talent. Demar is not yet ready to be option no. 1 or 2 right now. Surround him with more talent where he does not have to force his game and let him play his simple role. He's got a respectable mid range game with limited drives to the basket. Pick Harrison Barnes or Lamb at the 3, Jonas at the center, Bargnani at the PF, and get a starting PG as a free agent.
