Ed hasn't proven anything. besides, after the first preseason, I think he got the message that if he doesn't get his ass in gear, he'd be certain he won't be here next season. I think he will prove himself this year; let's hope.

Davis has proven enough for me. Look at his numbers as a starter, hell he had more rebounds then Bargs sunday in less minutes. He's proven more in his first 65-70 games then Bargs did in his first season as far as defense, intelligence, rebounding and effort goes.

Davis has the potential to be a real solid player.... time will tell if he can prove enough to be a starter on a playoff team. We'll see.....

All I know is Demar better get better at something other than scoring this year!

Like he could become a better passer or better defender or better rebounder.

It is a make it or break it year for him, but we said that same thing last year about AB...

there is no such thing as a make or break year..... that's why people get frustrated.

Unless Bargnani is willing to play Centre, we should move him.

Like it or not we need more minutes for Ed,He's a far more productive player at PF and has better potential as a two way player.

too funny... AB played well. It's unfortunate some just can't enjoy it rather than endlessly wishing for his departure. He's here to stay.....

Now back to DD.... dude better embrace the opportunity, continue working hard, and begin to get after in on D.

Why wait until his value plummets?

It won't get any better than this. It's his 6th year in the NBA and he's not going to get much better. Sell high.

It's a flawed argument. This isn't a video game. Dude is 26, healthy, skilled, team-oriented, positive, etc.

The argument isn't as flawed as you'd think.

How many players drastically improved in their 6th season?

I think that by that point you've got a pretty decent handle on how good (or bad) a guy is.

Ok, what is your plan if Ed & Amir continue to get better & better? Let them rot on the bench?

but if he continues to put up 20+ppg he will maintain value? I mean, people know his D sucks. As long as we don't wait till he's 29/30 he will retain pretty good trade value imo. He's got this season to prove himself.

rot on the bench? No, they get to play.... there are plenty of minutes. When JV comes over, maybe then there is a decision made....

also, Amir has been in the league for a long time.... why is it assumed that the sky is his limit?

This belief that guys can't continue to battle for minutes is absurd. To treat our young players as stars prematurely is a bad habit. Let them earn it. Neither have yet.

Last year, Bargs put up 20 points on 18 shots but shot below 45% from the field with little effort on the defensive end. Last game, I saw the guy actually chase for rebounds when he was not under the basket and put more effort on defense. Too bad he still looks lost on defense. With the effort he will put on defense and rebounding, his body will take more of pounding and legs will get tired. With the majority of his shots coming from the perimter, I think he shoots a much lower percentage and his points will drop. His value will drop.

that's just an opinion.... none of that is proven fact. In fact, one could argue that he'd be more engaged, more focused, and have better shot selection too.... his value could jump significantly!
