Quote:
Denzel Bowles’ sterling performance in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup has caught the attention of three National Basketball Association teams which have invited him to their respective training camps.

Bowles was named Best Import and played a dominant role for BMeg which beat Talk `N Text in the best-of-seven championship series.

His 39-point, 21-rebound performance in Game 7 lifted the Llamados to a 90-86 overtime win over the Texters last Sunday at the Smart-Araneta coliseum.

The three NBA teams are San Antonio, Golden State and Toronto.

“My agent had told me that the Spurs and the Warriors are really interested and they had me coming into camp. So those are the teams I’m going to check out this summer,“ said Bowles who left the country last night.

“They just saw what was going on. They follow how well I was playing and they just contacted my agent and my agent contacted them. They have been following me all the way since Lithuania. I have always been like, on the map, right between. So hopefully, I get the chance,“ added Bowles.

Also interested were the Toronto Raptors who called him in the middle of the interview last Mon day at his rented condominium unit in Ortigas.

“These guys, giving me a chance to play in the NBA, it’s just a blessing,“ said Bowles, a 23-year-old product of James Madison University, an NCAA Division 1 team.

6'10 PF shooting 42% from the field. Then again, the Spurs like him, so we should obviously give him a tryout.

I'm happy with Ed Davis, Amir, Gray and Magloire as our front court players coming off the bench. The team needs to upgrade the talent level and skills from its starters. No more role players.

exact same thing I was thinking..
their scouts are already planning for the future when Tim Duncan is no longer in the middle

that is what they do, they slowly bring in pieces so they don't have to do a major rebuild for the future

Spurs get great value from the low draft picks they select from. They have accumulated a good bunch of role players for their team. However, in a couple of years, with Team Duncan gone, Parker in his thirties, and we have already seen the regression of Ginoboli, Spurs will be hanging for the playoffs. Look at the Bulls without Rose, one and done.
