I just want to say how much better DeMar has been playing.
It's still early, but I'm really impressed. He has a vastly improved handle. That's what really sticks out to me. His shooting is better, and he looks better finishing in traffic, but his new found ability to consistently put the ball on the floor (whenever he wants, against whoever he wants) makes him very dangerous. He's even looked good driving and passing the ball to teammates. He's also looked better at guarding his man on the perimeter, especially as the first line of defense. DeMar is well on his way to becoming one of my favorite all time Raptors. Over the course of his career if he can master the 3 point shot, continue to develop his mid range game, and become more wily on defense he'll be an all star. I'm looking forward to a big season from DeMar, and watching him progress in the coming seasons. He's a guy I'm happy to see the team build around. ![]() Last edited by EggsToTheBBQ; 11-03-2010 at 06:23 AM. |

I think you will criticise me, but everyone is playing they're game. I would love to see better play from our poing guards, but I'm Happy. Yes Demar has improved and he proved himself to be in the starting line up, but I don't want him to become a star. I want all players to share the ball and attack the basket just like they did all 3 games. And Triano is doing a good job

Beyond the fact that his jump shot is still ugly and makes me cringe, i'm happy with the way he's playing. He's been much mor aggressive and getting to the line consistently. I'm pretty impressed after being skeptical about him.

The shots he makes look ok, ones he misses are total facepalms.
Whats interesting is that he wasn't the summerleague derozan in Sacramento. Going hard against skilled and big players is another level. Lets hope he keeps it up |

I watched just one game (Cleveland) but DD seems more confident and willing to be a factor on both sides, if he keep going he could became a very good player (not dare to hope for an all-star)

Demar should be and has the personality to be the on-court leader of the team. He'll be the guy guarding the other teams best players, and he'll be the guy who grinds out dirty baskets when shots aren't falling.
Until Demar has the confidence to step up and be that leader every game and the professionalism to be a contributor in every game, wins are going to be far and few between. |

Jeff his jumper has looked quite a bit better this year and he's been good offensively..............
my only concern is that he looked horrible guarding Tyreke Evans....he couldn't keep the guy in front of him at all |

for the most part he's looked really good. i'd just wish he'd take some initiative to getting the ball more. a lot of times you just see him in the corner, that might be the play design...but it's not really using him correctly....he's no Anthony Parker yet

I'm not sure I like the idea of Derozan having the ball in his hands all the time, or being the feature guard in the offense. He doesn't seem to desire to be that gaurd, and he's pretty good at finding his offense sparingly throughout the game as long he has the minutes.

i like how Derozan is playing, he is more confident.. that is why I wanted him to start over Barbosa.. the more he starts and has a bigger role, the quicker he will develop
people wan't him to be more selfish, but we have to be patient with him, he was the 5th option last year.. he is slowly becoming the 2nd option sofar this season but with no Bosh and Hedo, I am sure he feels more free to experiment on the court |

I'm very encouraged with his all around development so far. While his jumper is not consistent yet, he does have fairly manageable flaws in his mechanics. It should come around.

i think his shooting form is fine... whats wrong with it?
so far this season he has been penetrating more then shooting, and the shots he takes he hits some of them.. hitting more jumpers then weems |

Not really a DeRozan fan. Though, Demar has made significant strides; he's much more decisive and efficient this season.
Concerns: - Defense (stood no chance against Tyreke). We need this guy to be a solid defensive player. - Jumpshot. He puts a lot a work in this part of the game, but it just doesn't come naturally to him. - Putting the ball on the floor and creating for others. I rarely see Demar breakdown a defender and look to pass. This is what makes good players great. |

If Demar developed a Consistant Jump Shot he would Lethal, I mean he is a fantastic Slasher he always finds his way to the Hoop either for a Dunk or a Layup
He only took 4 3pointers last year, so yeah his Jumper needs work |
