Two different players. ESPN always undervalues RAP players. Big City players always get all the attention and hype. Look all the hype medoicre players like Shumpert and Butler get. Derozan is better overall player than Butler. If we offfered Derozan for Butler, Chicago would welcome the trade. If Chicago offered Butler to Toronto, Masai would balk at the trade unless a first round pick or two was offered.

No doubt Derozan is more talented and has a higher ceiling, but neither guy will ever be the alpha on a good team, so it comes down to who would you rather have as the #3 or #4 guy on your team, I'd take Butler because he's a better defender and spot-up shooter.

Moremilk. He wasn't 'nothing'. He didn't have 'no shot, no dribble, no defense, no anything'. Fans such as myself saw talent in him and potential. He didn't just turn from garbage to something. It is more likely that perhaps you just aren't that adept at recognizing basketball skill and talent. You need it to fully blossom before you know what you're looking at it.
But PPG is king and he has a better PPG than all those guys, therefore he is top 15 and they are not.

PPG as the sole measuring stick of a scorer - seriously flawed. Therefore spg or bpg should be the sole measuring stick of a defender. Hell, apg should be the sole measuring stick of a PG- Jose was top 5 and top 10 in apg, therefore- by that logic Jose was a top 5 or top 10 pg, passer and/or playmaker in the league. Why did we get rid of such all star and franchise backcourt of Jose and DD - what couldve been

I'd take Butler too. He's one of the best defensive players in the NBA, and his offence, like Derozans, has improved a lot year by year. The difference is CHIs offence doesn't include Butler as a primary option so hes limited to being a spot up shooter or late clock slasher, but he's extremely smart and you know that he's going to make the right plays nightly. In general, this comparison comes down to defence, because if Demar could improve to become an above average defender, than he'd be the better player, but he still hasn't shown that he can be a good defender on a consistent basis. Being elite at something as big as individual and team defence sets Butler apart in this comparison.
Woooooooo. It's nice to be right every once in a while.

The Heat have trusted him to take (and make) the 3 point shot in several games this season... and he's canned them in the clutch.

Might be a popular opinion but it's certainly not the correct one. Just look at any stretch of games where Wade has sat out. Bosh has always stepped up his game to fill the void and his "Toronto game" peeks out a bit more.
I mostly agree with you TORAP. CB doesn't get the credit he deserves. How many players do you know are not only perennial all-stars, but in the middle of their prime completely revamped their game to make their team as good as possible and their game as well-rounded as possible?
