Raptors DeMar added to US Training Camp Roster • update: makes the cut

@ESPNSteinLine: USA Basketball just confirmed Chandler Parsons' addition to upcoming Las Vegas training camp along with Toronto's DeMar DeRozan
What are the chances DeRo makes the big club?

Would be big for his game. I remember in 2010, all of the young guys who played on the roster (Curry, KD, Love, Rose, Westbrook - even veterans like Chandler/Odom) had career years the following year in the NBA. So let's hope me makes it.

What are your thoughts about DD making the squad? I personally hope he does, it will be tough in that company but it would be great for DD and the team.

I think he has a chance to make it, I don't see why he wouldn't get picked over Thomson or Beal.

Not sure who is the better defensive player between Beal/DD but it would be the consistent outside threat that Thomson/Beal bring that would tip it in their favor I would think.

Obviously both Beal and Thompson are better shooters than DD, But Demar is a better scorer overall. I really like Beal, but for now DD is still a better player.

Plus fiba 3pt line is closer than it is in the nba, so I think DD would be much more efficient shooting 3's, he can hit long 2's with no problem in the nba

Absolutely. I guess it's really what Team USA is looking for, a bigger shooting threat on the perimeter to create space or a more rounded approach.

I do agree though that he has a good chance.

He won't make it; there are 12 spots.

Still good experience.

He could make it, last spot comes down to DD, Beal, Klay, Drummond, Faried, Parsons, Hayward, and Korver and DD has a solid argument over any f those players.

I don't see him making it over the other 11 though.

He has a shot at cracking the roster. I just hope he doesn't get injured.

d rose going to play I only see 8 spots locked and 4 open spots that can be won with a great camp

kyrie, d rose, cousins, beal, Drummond, faried, Hayward, korver, derozan, parsons, klay Thompson

all these guys are competing for the final four spots,

1 big
1 forward
1 sg
1 pg

my lineup

Curry, Lillard, Irving
Harden, Thompson
Durant, George, Parsons
Griffin,Love
Davis, Drummond

leaving out d rose from what I seen last year before he got injured didn't have it probably wont this year either, beal size makes me want to leave him out under sized, derozan cant shoot 3s Thompson defends and shoots 3s better made for euro game, cousins easy unstable, Hayward faried, and korver just not good enough over the other guys that are available

DeMar can shoot the international threes easily. It's going to come down to what groups of players work well together. And there are usually one or two that need to drop out for whatever reason.

All depends on what they are looking for on the team. He has a decent shot though. If he were to make it that'd be great for him, his value and the raps. On another note I am always worried when players hook up with their national teams. Potential injuries and straying away from their normal routine.

With this team he has a decent to good shot at making the team. On an Olympic roster when some of the bigger stars want in as well he has no shot at making the team.

Love and Griffin withdrew, replaced by Millsap and Wall.

I think he can and has many times during the regular season.

This clip shows he's effectively reading the defence with klay approach him from the side.

On a similar note, demar's release is pretty slow/laggy if you ask me. Might be why opts to fade in many situations . That being said not everyone can shoot like klay Allen and korver
