Good too see lots of teams interested in picking up Carlos. Should be interesting to see if he remains here in the NBA or does go overseas.

Also, Delfino received offers from Cleveland and Orlando. In addition, outside the NBA, Khimky, Russia, he approached a millionaire proposal. Anyway Santa Fe guy has the intention of staying longer in the league of the United States and if with Manu (Ginobili) and Fabri (Oberto) much better.

Carlos could look very good in Spurs. IMO he fit in their style. But I like when he was our bench player.

I hope he doesn't go to Russia for the millionaire proposal. I don't care where he goes, as long as he stays in the NBA. I hate it when guys just leave the NBA like that.

I think that same. But did you see what it happened? More and more player going to Europe for millionaire proposal. Europe nears to NBA in good tempo.

Oh I want him to stay in the raptors, he is a great player. But you people have to understand that if this guys are leaving is because they will get more playing time, star treatment, more money and specially they will be back to play the style of basketbal they grew playing. Its a pretty obvious move.
But yeah I wish he stood in the raptors.

It's funny... with Euro leagues getting better, it's totally expected that some players would go to Europe and play there. Heck, now that some teams are willing to put up the same money for players, i'm sure certian ones would way rather play there than here.

Now i love the city of Toronto, but if i'm a decent player who has to decide between playing in Milwaukee / memphis or Rome / Barcelona for the same amount of money - hello Europe. Most North American cities can't hold a candle to most major Euro cities in terms of lifestyle.

Maybe if lifestyle was your only concern.

Alot of the world's best ball players want to play in, you know, the best league.

In addition, playing well in the NBA will net you a longer term, bigger money contract than playing well in Europe will.

There are plenty of players who will opt for the security and familiarity of their own home countries, I'm sure. But those who are particularly ambitious will continue to come to the NBA. It's an opportunity to prove themselves against the best players, and to gain notoriety on the world stage.

I would be very surprised if, at this point in his career, a player like Delfino were to go back. He's someone I could see playing out the end of his career overseas, but he's too good to not play in the NBA right now.

Not only that, the Euro is much stronger than the American dollar (and in some cases, teams might make offers that are tax exempt). They put you up in a nice pad, you have staff at your fingertips, it's great. And over there, guys are treated like basketball gods.

.

well clearly most players would consider the NBA their priority. All i'm saying is that over time, the Euroleagues are getting better and on an individual basis, i can totally see some players choosing Europe over North America - espicially if pay is on equal terms.

I even remember Delfino saying at the start of last year that he would consider Europe if things didn't work out in Toronto.

Obviously there are many things to factor in when players sign with new teams, i'm just saying that it shouldn't be considered a give in that everyone wants to play in the NBA at this point in time.

It's also a comfort level. Look at JC Navarro. Why wouldn't you go to a place where you are loved and adored? It's also good for his family. He's close to home and he gets paid. It's a win-win if you ask me.

He won't be a starter in the NBA unless he goes to a shit team.I say if he can get more money in Europe and get more minutes (Start) than i don't blame him if he goes.

And he gets more money for a shorter season. Also good for family life

I don't know I just think Delfino should stay with us. But hey, the man's gotta make his own decisions.

He didn't say anything about more money/shorter season.

That decision would be pretty easy...

BC: Carlos, unless you're going to take the minimum, we won't be able to bring you back.

Delfino: Peace

That's how I imagine that conversation going.
