Deja Vu...

2006/2007 - Raptors play below .500 ball, their starting PG goes down with an injury. Their backup PG takes over and absolutely dominates the play, and the team goes 6-3 with the backup, playing their best basketball of the season.

2009/2010 - Raptors play below .500 ball, their starting PG goes down with an injury. Their backup PG takes over and absolutely dominates the play, the team plays their best basketball of the season with the backup.

in 2006/2007 after TJ got healthy again, the team made a huge decision and went with what worked; they gave Jose the reigns and the starting position.

what will happen in 2009/2010?
if the past is any indiction - JJ will be our starter from now on. is this going to happen? i say it should.
JJ is a leader, period. he does things that jose would never do and isnt afraid to get dirty. jose's time is done.

It's eeerily similar. Will this team play better when Calderon is in the lineup in lieu of Banks. We've seen Banks play some good D and play decent over the stretch that Jose was out. Question is should we be looking to trade Calderon for a bonafied 2-guard/swingman and just let Banks be the back-up?

as i said in the other thread, a starter shoulod never lose his job due to injury. you may need to work him back from the bench to his starter's role if he's been out for a while, but he should be given every opportunity to try to get back to where he was. if he can't hack it, demote him, but he doesn't deserve to be demoted just because he got injured.

being the kind of guy jose is, though, he may volunteer to come off the bench.

calderon is a great scorer. In a situation where he is a backup pg, not having to deal with guarding premier pgs and being guarded with them and not being on the floor with the stars and having the green light to shoot he would flourish.

If you go back to that dreadful injury to TJ you will see that Jose was putting up some pretty damm good numbers. If you look at what Jose did after getting to start you will see some significant numbers again. Stats don't lie and it clearly shows that Jack has not done anything significant to take over the starting job. Hell he does not even come close to what Jose has done in the past.

Stats don't lie it even supports that Jose should come back as a starter which i don't support right now. Jose comes back slowly before he gets his starter spot back.

i dont think BC will want to go down another road of PG controversy, i bet he's on the phone lines right now trying his darndest to make a jose trade... its too bad SJax and the warriors parted ways, because that would have been awesome, and i think both teams would have agreed.

don't worry Jose will play. Triano will play the Jose+JJ combo in every game

Really then you really don't have any clue how BC thinks. You think that BC is that stupid to trade his best point guard after his team has beaten some injury riddled teams. Hell its BC 'S phones ringing as teams now try to steal Caldy. BC has gone this road before as teams always wanted to steal Caldy from us.

Teams have wanted to steal Calderon from us? Which ones? When?

Calderon can score, but we don't need his scoring, we need his D, I'll rather take JJ and than add a SG that can defend and score (Iggy, Butler...(

Jack's D is the same as Jose's. Jack got manhandeled by Parker and Felton. He isn't as good on D as you guys hype him up to be. Jose is the starting point gaurd for sure. Jack is good but IMO he is only good for the back-up position

Honestly... if BC isn't SERIOUSLY weighing this option he's crazy.

I still think that there's an outside chance to talk to WAS. (BUTLER!!!!)
