Default Defensively Ranking SGs

I posted this dudes PG rankings last week, all the criteria used is explained in the 1st few pages:

Defensively Ranking Every Starting Point Guard in the NBA | Bleacher Report

and the thread: HUGE Surprise!

Now here's the shooting guards:

Ranking the Defense of the Starting Shooting Guard for Every NBA Team | Bleacher Report

Please dont just read the number beside em and start blasting the article. Yes, Ray Allen is ranked very high but he explains how the system in Boston accounts for much of that. He just crunches the numbers based on the criteria explained and hits "sort". He then digs deeper (if necessary) to explain why they are where they are but doesnt move em around. Another example: D-Wade is lower than you'd expect because he doesnt defend the jump shot very well, but the criteria used doesnt take into account for how his help D is light years ahead of most 2-guards. He explains this, and even offers a guess that in reality hes a top 3 or 4 defender at SG, but doesnt re-rank him.
Also, keep in mind that players who spent a good chunk of the season coming off the bench rank better than they should. This is because they spent alot of time guarding bench players, so dont freak out that Gerald Henderson ranks 19 spots ahead of DeRozan - its all explained, just not re-ranked.

Hopefully this will help us avoid some of the pointless arguments we usually have, but I doubt it. lol

Absolutely last year. It has to be between Tony, Iggy and Wade.

I'm not sure.... he's lost a step.... but he is good. I'd say Iggy, though many consider him a 3 because he can play and guard both spots.

didn't tony come off the bench?

Eric Gordon only played a limited amount of the season.

Kudos to Captain Jack he maybe the only 2 who can and has guarded elite PF's in his career. And he is coming off Bobcats team that made losing a priority.

Captain Jack is a SF through and through; 6'8" is well beyond SG territory.

And 6'9'' is well beyond PG territory, but tell it to Magic Johnson.

So far we have the 2nd worse PG, and the fifth worse SG in the NBA defensively on our starting 5 in arguably the two most ball dominating and athletic positions in the floor.

Combined with a less than average helping Center that just means Lottery. Alllll dayyyyy Longgggggggg!

Well said! No wonder all five look terrible regardless of who's on the court! You can't run a system like that.
