Sure they are. Even reading this thread, there are people that aren't necessarily fans of his.

Besides, this thread was mostly just me defending my favourite player. From a chick standpoint.

Cuz I'm a chick. And I stand. And point.

heh.

Raptorman, and many others are right, Toronto needs a 6'7", 235 lb !00meter/ high jump Gold medalist who can hit for 70% from the three, average 25 10 and 15, while owning a Doctorate in sports psychology and Brad Pitt looks.

Don't worry folks, the scouts are on it. In the meantime, we'll have to settle for our much better than average Spanish PG who shows more ehart than any of his current mates.

i can't think, off the top of my head, of any tough as nails, hard-nosed, defensive pg's who are on the trading block, or who are on teams that are already so defensive-minded that they would be willing to give up their starting defensive pg to take jose in return. can you give me an example or two? can you name some guys that we would actually have a shot at and who's contracts could match (even with additional players involved) to illustrate that this opportunity is actually out there?

NIce. Jose was bad in the first 3 games but got better ever since. His shot still has a little while to go. Other then that he is awesome. He had a good game esterday as well. I also loved the pizza thing he said LOL

How can anyone say they are not sold on jose ??? Jose is a leader on this team. You will find the entire Raptors organization in Jose's heart. The guy gives you all hes got every game, sure he will have bad games, but hell how can you question his loyalty. This guy is always talking to his team mates, both when he is on and off the court. Hes always there hive fiving his mates when they do good, he always there high fiving when guys are down trying to pump them back up.Its all about the team for Jose.

Unfortuanately, Jose's strength is also his weakest.Jose is at his best when he becomes aggressive, attacks and looks for his shot. However Jose is wired alittle differant then your typical NBA player where players take care of themselves first. You will never hear from Jose that he wants to leave Toronto to play on a winning team, or leave Toronto to get more money. Jose's home is in Toronto and his heart is with the Raptors family. Jose will never bail from Toronto he will continue to play hard until we win a championship. How many guys do you know will do that ??? I would never knock a guy when he gives his heart and soul to our team.

I'll only knock jose for his incapacity to take more risks. he's a great player, but plays it safe way too often for my liking. he'd rather keep the turnovers down. you can see him hang his head after an alley-oop or cross court pass is intercepted. i've seen it several times thus far where at the next opportunity he pulls it back instead of pushing forward.

last i checked you can't get rust on your cohones. it's the thing keeping him from the next level. last night's game was a move in the right direction. but some more risk please.

So whoever would like to pay for my cable and then come and install it, Jose thanks you.

Anyway - stop Jose Hate. (Or can I call it "Jose Jate"? Does that work?)

He's the shit. And he embodies the kinda spirit this team needs.

I agree to this under 2 conditions.

1 - You must edit my forthcoming novel at no cost.

2 - You are to give me a piece of your hair so I could clone and subsequently date, you [or the clone you, rather]...I want my own 'Cuda dammit.

Man, I wish I head watched the post-game interview. Just the way it's described sounds hillarious. Jose loves the fans, so I wouldn't be shocked if he was genuinely dissapointed over not getting them pizza.

I'm as far from "hate" as you can possibly think. I've started jose is better than deron threads when he was still a bench guy behind TJ, and always said he's a better player than TJ (still think that).

But that being said, as a starter in a league where more and more PGs rely on quickness, he's hopelessly overmatched almost on a nightly basis. Everything we do on D is designed to cover this weakness in our starting roster. That's why we "pack the paint", because our guards are unable to contain penetration, and unless we crowd the centre, we'd get shredded like swiss cheese or worse (the sad part is that we're still shredded ...). In a starting lineup of bad defenders, Jose is the worse. That's not hate, that's reality. The fact that he's hard to replace because teams hold on to their PGs doesn't make him any better, just highlights our problem.

Luckily, when health, he's an offensive force. I've always wondered how some on this forum think that Jose can't get to the basket when he was doing that consistently before his injury. With his shooting and ability to get to the basket (where he is very very good, one of the best I've seen at finishing from near), he will sometime overcome the negatives of his D.
