A deal should be made

These are the words i now loook for every morning here and at other NBA sites, and the words i listen for on the radio everyday in my vehicle. Maybe i'm being impatient, but i can't wait for a deal or two to be made and it seems to me BC is running out of time before this season is lost. Being 10 games under .500 is very likely by the end of the week after we play Denver/Houston/Orlando.

The suspense is killing me! And i wish Colangelo would get something done, the sooner the better.Because this season is getting uglier by the day and it won't get any better if we do nothing. With no athletic wing players you can't win in the NBA. And right now we have no such athletic wing player that can play with any heart and consistency.

AP/Moon/JK/Graham = panzies

Let's get something done Mr. C!!

Stonezz 12-30-2008 09:27 PM

Yeah man i've been waiting for BC to make a deal for sometime. Salmons is on the trading block, but he probably won't even want to play here anyways.

Kris 12-30-2008 09:34 PM

Man for a second there I thought that a deal really had been made. Gave me a bit of a heart attack.

Rapt0rs 12-30-2008 09:35 PM

Ive heard rumors of AP and Bragnani for Magette...theres also rumors that we're interested in Salmons and Joe Smith

Claudius 12-30-2008 09:47 PM

All those rumors have been reported here ;)

I'm just curious though, do any of us think a trade will actually fix this mess right now or simply provide a band aid solution and a short term fix?

AP/Bargs

for

Magette?

Where did you hear that? Unless we also get Azabuike or Belinelli i wouldn't touch that.

I would honestly do:

AP/Bargs + lottery protected 1st rounder

for

Maggette/Belinelli/Williams

Depends who we get and who we give up!

Unless we trade JO or a combination of AP/Bargnani or AP/Calderon we aren't getting much in return.

I'm a big believer in trading JO/Moon for a starting 3 and a good back up PG and possibly also a backup 2.

But i don't see us trading JO yet unless we get Marion + ? from Miami!

10gizzle 12-30-2008 09:55 PM

That's just all the usual bullshit that's being speculated on a daily basis.

I think we should sign Earl Boykins for our backup PG duties...

Claudius 12-30-2008 10:01 PM

I say we do nothing. That's me though. I don't want to make a lateral move that gets us into the playoffs we receive nothing. I want to end up reloading for next season when we need to show Bosh that we give a shit.

Kirby 12-30-2008 10:04 PM

Boykins is in Italy. I'd love him here tho.:dancing:

benturn10 12-30-2008 10:34 PM

dude why is the title "A deal has been made?"

Windex 12-31-2008 01:31 AM

from SI.com

With teams' needs becoming obvious, here are five trades that should be made before the February deadline

4. G-F Anthony Parker and F-C Nathan Jawai to the Bucks; G Charlie Bell and F Austin Croshere to the Raptors
Is this the ideal way for Toronto to fill its desperate need for a backup point guard? Of course not—but it's the best the Raptors can do while saving enough money to get under the luxury-tax threshold this season. Bell isn't a true point, but he's capable enough to spell overworked José Calderón. Milwaukee, meanwhile, sheds Bell's contract (three years, $11.5 million remaining beyond this season) for Parker, whose three-point shooting and professionalism will come in handy before his contract runs out this summer. Croshere could help Toronto as a frontcourt shooter, but he and Jawai are mainly throw-ins for cap purposes.

its_asdf 12-31-2008 01:56 AM

That trade sounds plausible and doesn't seem to favour either side but at the same time benefits both parties.

If Colangelo even considers trading for Maggette's absurd contract I'm going to have to choke a bitch.

I'm with you there Claudius... unless its a major overhaul, a trade will not really fix this mess at all.

Gurk 12-31-2008 08:25 AM

I deal should've been made a long time ago, the sooner the better

+1

The real fun is going to be next season/this off-season. Why make a move that just makes us marginally better but doesn't have the long term goal in mind? I don't want to mortgage a 1st rounder + Bargnani for something that barely gets us into the dance and squashed in the first round.

Ugo Ferst 12-31-2008 10:09 AM

All the trades mentioned would make us medicore at best, i rather endure losing and build from the ground up then get some more bums.

But hey, grabbing two starters or a starter and a bench player from a team as bad or worse then us, will make us win it all, 4sho.

moremilk 12-31-2008 01:12 PM

that's a bad trade - I want to see what Jawaii can do. Guys like crosshere or bell can be had for peanuts and they are end of rotation players on a crappy team as it stands right now ...

The MVP of West Hollywood 12-31-2008 01:26 PM

Yeah I dont think a small move will fix this mess.

Ive been a big supporter of moving JO for Hinrich and Hughes and Gray or Noah, and then Calderon for wing help on the same day. I think Hinrich can do what Jose does but with defence, which is what we need. Hughes gives us still the biggest expiring contract of any team next year so we wont lose much, considering were probably dealing it. Frankly it might be hard to move a 22 mil deal of any type next year, 13 could be more feasible for teams.

Tommy2Tymes 12-31-2008 01:27 PM

i dont understand for the love of god all this maggette man-love on this board? the guy is a loser, and a ball hog. perfect guy to make CB4 wanna bolt in 2010. JESUS!
