How did the team do since his departure? As for that primitive offense Carp speaks of - how much less primitive did it get since he left?

And you failed to answer my question about where anyone said he was an awesome coach?
so sorry..

you didn't use the word awesome, but relentless defending of the guy for years kind of led me to use it. and you even stated in your post that he did everything he could it was the team that was bad leads a reader to believe it wasn't Sam's fault in your eyes, so therefore he isn't a bad coach. i used awesome the same way i roll my eyes whenever i read any of your crap.

and thank god you don't share my opinion, cause that would mean i'm wrong,

i just gotta stay away from here, hasn't been the same since doc left. and u sure dont fill that void, just piss me off.

His second year was a fun year. It was the emergence of Bosh, similar to this year for Bargnani.

He may not have been an awesome coach but he was the coach the lead Toronto to their last 2 playoff appearances and only division title so far. That's gotta count for something.

Sure, you have to have some talent to work with, but I do believe that Sam deserves some credit too. As far as I recall, in 06-07 nobody thought the Raptors could do shit.

I think we just need an Assistant coach who can draw up some offensive plays.

Everything was good up to here. Doc laid a good platform here, but it was a handful of us that grew this place.

Like when your favorite band becomes really popular and you get pissed off because now everybody is listening to them, and don't remember the original drummer.

Trust me the metaphor works.

..and the drummer found a new band is doing just fine, but the Ringo Starr Allstar Band were never the Beatles.

Trying to get the thread back on track...

Notice an interesting trend: none of Toronto head coaches (awesome or otherwise) has held another head coaching position in the NBA after being let go in Toronto. Not a single one.

Just like most players who played here play worse after leaving town. Billups, Hump and T-Mac being the exceptions that come to mind.

Actually, Darell Walker coached in Washington and Brendan Malone coached in Cleveland.
