I very interest to know what all of you think about DD this season so far.

i see a lot of negativ tread about evry body on this team, but he is the only one who has a good start of season (with lowry)
and he seems to have mature.

G GS Min FG% 3pt% FT% ORbd DRbd Rbd Ast Stpg TO Pts
8 8 38.3 0.443 0.250 0.784 1.0 4.1 5.1 2.1 1.0 0.2 1.63 20.0

if he can continue like that i think he will deserve his contract,
what do you think of him so far ?

Those numbers at 4/40 are a bargain. I think last night's average performance offensively was a bit of fatigue and the Pacers getting favorable treatment at home.

DeRozan has been solid so far this season if he keeps it up he will get more calls to go his way!

I have noticed a huge jump in his Basketball IQ

LOG 11-14-2012 10:59 AM

Very impressed so far, he plays the right way

pzabby 11-14-2012 11:10 AM

I want to see his free throw's get up to at least 85, comeon now. Also, he needs to take better shots, which he has been doing of late. that .443 FG% needs to near 50. Otherwise, I love his rebounding, his passing has gotten much better as of late, but most importantly, his defence has really shot up there. I don't want to say I told you so but.. I told you so!

Not a option No. 1 on a good team, nor a option no. 2 on a contending team, but definitely a weapon and asset for this franchise.

He's doing great so far but there's still a little over 90% of the season left. Hopefully he keeps it up.

fancylad 11-14-2012 12:16 PM

he's been awesome. starting to tap into some of that potential.

just4_raps 11-14-2012 02:26 PM

what impresses me the most is his rebounding #s. and that he's had a few games with 6+ assists. he makes smart basketball decisions now vs. in the past.

Superjudge 11-14-2012 02:28 PM

why arnt thy winning then?

stats dont win games, winner win games.

TORaptor4Ever 11-14-2012 06:04 PM

I'd like to see the FG% and FT% numbers rise a bit more but I'm VERY excited about his play thus far. His post game in particular has been a revelation.

The best part is,there's still a learning curve for the kid so playing alongside Lowry will make him better. Although he's in his 4th season as a pro,he's only 23. DD will continue to prove if he continues to work hard,he may not be a 1st option or franchise player but he can be an important piece to a playoff team.

Dario 11-14-2012 06:14 PM

yeah DD's IQ sky rocketed, it looks like that atleast so far

LET'S GO RAPTORS!!!!! 11-14-2012 06:22 PM

Really glad to see him improve his overall play. He looks better on d, he's rebounding better, passing and handling the rock better too.

AR1815 11-14-2012 07:51 PM

I've been impressed thus far. The midrange jumper is falling consistently, he's looking to post up smaller opponents whenever there's a switch, and is staying aggressive despite the lack of respect he gets taking the ball to the hole. The only gripes are that the three point shooting is still very much below average for a SG, and his defense needs to tighten up. At least he's hitting the boards with more gusto, though.

Still, if he keeps playing like this and extends his range over the next year or two, BC offering him that contract will go down as one of his better decisions. Clearly, DD isn't going to be a Kobe-type player, ever, but he's finally starting to play up to his potential.

DeRozan Developed Post Game Watching Tape Of Wade - RealGM Wiretap

DeMar DeRozan has a new contract with the Toronto Raptors and is taking a big step forward in his fourth year in the NBA.

DeRozan watched tape of Dwyane Wade in the post during the offseason because he wanted to incorporate some of those aspects into his own game when he has a length advantage over his defender.

DeRozan is even understanding when to pass out of the post when the double-team arrives.

"He is reading defences, he is passing the ball out, that. That is what I love," Dwane Casey explained. "He is doing a heck of a job maturing as a basketball player. That is what is beautiful to see."

DeRozan has increased his assist rate and is playing with more confidence.

"Just try to do more than what I did before," DeRozan said of his expanding game. "That's rebounding, assists, playing defense, playing the passing lanes, getting steals. Just trying to do everything."

RaptorsVictim 11-15-2012 03:36 AM

I could see a slight improvement in his ball handling, and I would like to see him driving more, but the truth is : he is doing very well right now, and I wish he continues like that.

rapsmannn 11-15-2012 03:52 AM

He has been playing great its a shame that Lowry got Hirt and Andrea isn't playing well or even half as good as he was last year
