Would be an excellent move but I'm thinking there are not going to be many - if any - teams that will want to trade their pick next year if that draft is that deep - picks worthwhile anyways. I guess if it's a tank then it doesn't need to be next years draft - they will be 4 more years to get a pg.

On the trade front, wondering what a player like KL, with all the skills and still relatively young but a head case/fights with coaches/sulks and is in an expiring year be worth?

Serious question.

Ahhhhhh, nothing like starting over....

as a pro athlete he was. but that wasn't what we were discussing. you're low reading comprehension skills got you again. we were debating how impressive his weight loss is given he wasn't overweight compared to an average person. weight loss is weight loss, athlete or not. if lowry were 400 pounds and had this weight loss it'd be less impressive than it is.

but then again you know all right and don't actually have to read posts?

C'mon Pzabby, take yourself out of trying to prove SJ wrong. He's 100% right. KL was out of shape/fat and to high five a player for doing what he should have done a year ago (or even 6 months ago) is silly imo. Losing 15 lbs when you're consuming that amount of food and water and doing little is not that hard to lose when you hit the gym and you body goes 'oh ya, I remember this'. Pay me a few mil and I'll always be in top shape.

I wonder why he can't do this every year. Why was he out of shape going into training camp he wouldn't have got injured.

It's clear is a contract year and he is building himself.

one month. 2 months isn't that impressive. my original post I thought it was one month. hence the impressed.

i'm not going out of my way to bother you. you just continually come out looking for an argument on my posts.

I don't find gaining/loosing weight all that difficult (i guess that really depends on a person)
I'm 5'7 around 157 pounds after few months in the gym I easily reach 170ish.
If I stop working out for half a year lets say, party little too much and skip meal or two, don't get enough sleep etc in the process I loose a lot of weight and go down as low135pounds! This exact thing happened to me within a year and a half. And I'm not a professional athlete with millions of dollars and personal trainers, but then again Lowry was loosing fat not muscle

LOG, you weren't eating enough, plus if you stop going to the gym you'll lose most of the mass you put on. Your body is a brilliant machine that does not willingly give you muscle if it's unneeded.

I agree whole-heartedly with SJ though, Kyle's ass was huge and yes, with the influx of cases of obesity in North America, he wasn't as big as the average person.

Fuck it, yeah he was..

I went looking for the original RealGM thread but the post was gutted and the original poster says that he had to "take out the MEAT AND POTATOES here as per the request of a few folks in upper management"

Looks like Casey had some juicy comments about Bargs and Colangleo that got gutted too.

- We need veterans on this team that can contribute, play minutes and be a presence on and off the court.

- Casey said he tried to put Bargnani in good positions to succeed but nothing worked, says he's talented but he had a hard time, injuries didn't help. (hinted that it was time for a change for both sides)

- Rudy Gay is a franchise type player, they expect a big year from him

- Casey said JV is a beast and is the right Center for this program, as the season went on in the second half he was getting more respect from the refs. Towards the end of the year, teams like ATL and BOSTON were double teaming him and forcing him to kick it out...he has the attention of opposing teams now

- Ujiri is a breath of fresh air, he's enthusiastic. Says he and Ujiri are on the same page with where this team needs to be. Not just playoffs but strive for a championship.

- Ujiri said that when he was in Denver nobody bothered him. Here he had people coming up to him at the airport, streets greeting him and talking to him. Loves the city, thinks this is a great market and a sleeping giant in the NBA. Said that this fanbase would go crazy (referenced GSW) if they started winning consistently and competed for a Championship. Making the playoffs is easy enough to do but they're serious about winning a championship and being good for the long haul.

- Casey mentioned that during the year, people questioned his substitution patterns and who was on the court when it mattered. Alot of it was feeling out who they had and what their guys could do. Admits that alot of the time, there were guys on the court who shouldn't have been and hadn't earned the right to be... (BC?)

- Said KL is in great shape, talks to him all the time. Has lost 15lbs, they need him to be at his best next season. Thinks he's got a great amount of talent.

The interviewer's summary:

Quote:
That pretty much wraps up the breakfast this morning. I think i covered most of it (From what I could recall of memory). Looks good, things are in the right direction. DEFINITELY looks like Casey is here for another year. What was news to me was the few (unofficial) jabs that he took at BC at his inclination/love for Bargnani. Tho Casey always defended the guy last year, I think it was all under the BC umbrella. It was pretty evident to me that Casey ALSO wants Bargnani gone. He mentioned that maybe swapping him out for a veteran player that fills a NEED is an option. I think they're willing to lose their shirts just to trade him out and get a serviceable piece back. That'd be a HUGE Slap in BC's face if they tossed him for nothing.

In terms of tanking...doesn't look like it all all, so put it to rest WIGGINS LOVERS...it'd be GREAT, but won't happen. Not with our pick anyway.

This was a large interview and there was a lot to it. More than I posted, but that's some of it that I recall. I was actually impressed with the info overall. Certainly sounds like they're looking to add on the fly + grow internally. If I remember anything else i'll post it.

No, definitely doesn't sound like a tank. Sounds like they believe in a lot of the guys.

And for those who ultimately get moved, they will be maximized as assets.

Casey seems real comfortable. No lame-duck coach vibe coming from him.
