Default David Blatt Out Of A Job

I believe this is one of the coaches that Mike_TO was high on a couple years back and was hoping BC would consider bringing him here. Anyone think its a possibility now at least as an assistant?

Ozerhun said “Our results this season both in Turkey and Euroleague have not satisfied us. We decided to discuss the situation after the game against Pinar Karsiyaka and parted the ways with Mr. Blatt in mutual understanding.

side note: have you ever read another official statement, when a coach gets fired? It is always the same - probably the media officers of the clubs google “What to write when firing a coach”

Where does this leave Blatt? From hero to zero - meaning from winning the European Championship with Russia 2007 in Spain to getting fired from a struggling Turkish Euroleague team? Or is this just the way he planned to get out of Turkey to make his way to CSKA?

A whole paragraph with question - not good - but this are the facts - nobody really knows where Blatt’s next career step is going to be - I doubt he knows himself right now.

I'd bring in Blatt. I think he's got a fantastic basketball mind - better than DMart. And perhaps cheaper.

Nope.. but you never know what's going to happen at the end of this season with a lot of coaching casualties in the NBA. Besides, money talks.

Do you think he'll be back with CSKA, Bel?

either way, he won't make a big difference. I'm not a big fan on european coaches coming to nba - the game is very different, and things they know might not work here. I'd rather have a very, and I mean VERY good defensive minded coach. Somebody like thibodeau for example. If Boston wins it all - he would probably entertain an offer from us as a lead coach.

nah, but I supose that after how well CSKA has done there will be pleny of teams trying to sign him in europe.

And he will get more money than a third coach here.

In part you are right. but since coaches in europe are really fundamental oriented I bet soon players there will be more in the NBA. The same thing that has happend with players.

He did an outstanding job leading an undertalented Russian squad to the European gold last summer.

I'd bring him in in any capacity he'd agree to.

I know his story, but frankly I'm tired of experiments. Let's get somebody proven in the NBA.

And whom would you like, moremilk? Larry Brown? Carlisle?

The only two proven NBA coaches that I'd want are Phil Jackson or Jerry Sloan and neither is available.

I would love to get the Boston guy - thibodeau. If he's as good a defensive coach as they say he is - than we are going to be so much better just because of that. OUr offense is so free flowing, that it doesn't require a great coach to run it ...

I think h'e one of the best coaches out there. He won several national leagues, cups, one Euroleague and the Eurobasket tournament last year against stronger teams, but rumours say he will coach CSKA Moscow next year.
He coached Bargnani too.
