TURKOGLU AWAITING THE DAWN OF 2010

Quote:
“Hopefully it will be a rising 2010 for me,” said Turkoglu, who has been targeted as one of the reasons why the Raptors have gotten off to a 13-17 start, though they have won two in a row. “I’m feeling much better physically, and I’ve learned about the system and the players now.”

Turkoglu began the season fatigued and sore after playing for his native Turkey in the summer and helping to guide Orlando to the NBA Finals. It has taken him time to get completely healthy.

He’s also had to learn a new system with new teammates and there have been games when his numbers, and his effort, lacked. But head coach Jay Triano has also taken some responsibility for Turkoglu’s numbers, saying that he is still learning how to best utilize his new forward.

“I know what I can do,” said an introspective Turkoglu. “I like to do different things, like rebound the ball, push it up, make an extra pass, create shots for other people — those are things that make me more happy than being selfish and taking 30 shots and scoring 30 points. That’s not going to get me anywhere.

Being dad has Bosh feeling festive

Quote:
It will be the first "real" Christmas for father and daughter. Trinity would have been barely a month old a year ago, unable to really comprehend what was going on around her.

"This is the first one she's going to be spoiled at," said Bosh. "She can rip open stuff now."
Quote:
"Pretty much everything I like, she likes," he said. "She likes little computers and little DVD sets, so I got her a ton of that stuff."

Bosh's grown-up Christmas wish

Quote:
For Chris Bosh, it was a 10-speed bicycle. Any old bike, just so long as it was not pink, or powder blue. It was all Bosh wanted for Christmas when he was 12 years old.

"I got a red Huffy, a 10-speed bicycle," Bosh says. "It was sweet, with the little off-road looking tires."

Bosh rode his new red bike so much he eventually wore it out. It is a feeling the Toronto Raptors star, and his teammates, can all relate to. Toronto has played its first 30 games in 53 days, an especially murderous pace for a club with nine new faces trying to get acquainted with one another and master coach Jay Triano's playbook. The busy schedule has not helped the team chemistry experiment, with the Raptors off to a disappointing 13-17 start.

Bobcats hand Pistons fifth straight loss

Quote:
Charlie Villanueva only played 22 minutes and scored four points on 2-for-8 shooting. Villanueva has a case of plantar fasciitis in his right heel and it's causing him pain every time he takes a step.
Quote:
"We had open looks, we just couldn't make shots," coach John Kuester said.
Quote:
If you would have asked Gordon Monday if he were playing against the Bobcats, he probably would have nodded his head yes.
"It felt pretty good," said Gordon, who then proceeded to work out a little more Monday night to see if the ankle was actually getting better.
No luck.

Bosh got his two years old 'a ton of' little computers and DVD sets? Doesn't sound like a wise dad IMHO.

Considering the tranny in todays SSG offering is quite frightening, I think it was a wonderful idea to put the pretty looking Garbage collector in the Dog Bowl. Nice touch for the lads at Christmas.

I picture the bottom SSG saying in a voice similar to Ivan Drago's,"I must break you!"
