Stars align in Big D

Quote:
The largest crowd to watch a basketball game saw an all too familiar sight.
Dwyane Wade did it again in north Texas.
Wade had 28 points and won MVP honours, and the Eastern Conference edged the West 141-139 on Sunday night in the NBA all-star game.
The crowd of 108,713 at Cowboys Stadium watched Dallas native Chris Bosh make the winning free throws with 5.0 seconds left. The West had a chance to win it, but Carmelo Anthony's three-point attempt came up short. Bosh finished with 23 points and 10 rebounds.

Stars align for red-hot Chris Bosh

Quote:
And as he stood at the line, with the majority of an incredible audience of more than 100,000 booing, Bosh's mind was blank.
"Nothing," he said when asked what was going through his mind. "Just make it, take your time and make it, nothing else.
"I like to go blank, it throws your concentration off. You practise them every day, you practice them all the time, I just wanted to get a good shot up."
No thoughts even in the magnitude of that moment?
"No, no, no. I thought about all that stuff when I got fouled. It was, `Oooh, now I have to make it, now I have the ball in my hands.'"
While Miami's Dwyane Wade was named the game's MVP, Bosh at least deserved a mention as he continued his breakout season on one of the game's biggest stages.
"Before I was just kind of shell-shocked and just happy to be here," he said. "Now I'm being competitive, I know that I belong here and I feel like I'm one of the best players here. You have to have that confidence in yourself and I have that."

General consensus of the boys and girls I hang with at things like all-star weekend?
Average to below average, saved only because of the facility on Sunday.
Saturday was mind-numbing, Friday was typically without charm or substance and even the Sunday, close as it turned out to be, was pretty ho-hum.
Usually, there’s enough moments in the first three quarters to make you go ‘wow’ and then things get serious.
But even the first three quarters were dull in long stretches and the closeness of the game was sort of diminished by the fact that the only shots made down the stretch, it seemed, were free throws.

Record crowd watches East win

Quote:
The crowd of 108,713 at Cowboys Stadium watched Dallas native Chris Bosh make the winning free throws with 5.0 seconds left. The West had a chance to win it, but Carmelo Anthony's three-point attempt came up short.
“To be in front of 108,000 fans, that was actually what it was, that was not a false number. You could look up in the stands, and there was not a seat open,” LeBron James said. “To be part of history is something that you always wish and dream for.”
The largest cheer of the night came earlier, when Mavericks owner Mark Cuban and Cowboys owner Jerry Jones came onto the court to announce the record crowd, which was also the largest in the US$1.2 billion building's short history.
They were booing at the end when Wade went to the line and made two free throws with 12.7 seconds left. Dirk Nowitzki of the hometown Mavericks tied it with two of his own five seconds later before Bosh put the East on top for the final time.
Wade, the MVP of the 2006 NBA finals when Miami won the title in Dallas, added 11 assists and six rebounds. James had 25 points, and Bosh finished with 23 points and 10 rebounds.

Bosh has big game in return to Dallas area

Quote:
Playing about 20 miles west from where he was a high school star, Dallas native Chris Bosh looked right at home in the All-Star game Sunday night at Cowboys Stadium.
"It is a really good feeling to be an All-Star year in and year out," said Bosh, who hit two free throws with 5 seconds left to give the East a 141-139 victory. "But to be an All-Star in my hometown, it's been great for me."
The Toronto star, a five-time All-Star selection, had 23 points and 10 rebounds playing in his favorite football team's stadium.
He entered the game with 5:44 left in the first quarter. Bosh drove for a dunk 8 seconds later and hit all three of his shots in the first quarter.
Bosh finished things off with two of his more memorable free throws.
"First off, I just wanted to make them," Bosh said. "We got a shot at the end. We all wanted to win the game, obviously."

Raptors star Chris Bosh shows he's one of the best

Toronto Raptors forward Chris Bosh played high school basketball at Lincoln and still lives in Dallas during the off-season.

But he appeared right at home a few miles west Sunday night during the NBA All-Star Game at Cowboys Stadium.
In front of a basketball-record crowd of 108,713, Bosh calmly sunk two free throws with five seconds left to give the East a 141-139 victory over the West.
"108,000 people are watching, and it's a little different kind of setting. I wanted to make it, and I'm glad I did," Bosh said. "I'm glad you asked me that question instead of me missing. I would have had to listen to my friends after this game."
Bosh, playing in front of several friends and family members, finished with 23 points and 10 rebounds in 29 minutes.

SSG is Harry Potter's new gf. Good for him, she'll make him a man.

As for the other two... yeah... my sister and I often get mostly naked and hug for pictures. It's normal.

Harry Potter Chick's outfit could be cute.

I think she works out better as a not cute. She'd lose her sloppy charm.

Can I be invited to the next family gathering?

I'll bring a casserole over just to be courteous?
