Bosh-less and hopeless

Quote:
Bosh-less and completely hopeless, the Raptors became nothing more than a glorified practice team for the host Thunder on Sunday night.
Everyone knew the Raptors would eventually struggle without their franchise player, but no one could have envisioned how inept the Raptors would be without Chris Bosh.
With their 119-99 loss to the uptempo Thunder, the Raptors are now 2-3 without Bosh, a number that figures to get worse with a Monday meeting against another high-octane team in the form of the Houston Rockets.
About the only good news is the amount of off days that await the Raptors, time that will give Bosh additional time to heal his ankle.
Following Monday night’s tip in Houston, the Raptors won’t play until Friday against the visiting New York Knicks.
The Raptors were able to compensate for the loss of Bosh in beating the likes of New jersey and Washington, but have now dropped three straight.
Not since the team’s low point back in late November have the Raptors lost three in a row.

No masking Hedo's frustration

Quote:
Hedo Turkoglu no longer requires a mask to protect his orbital bone under his right eye, but he’s not masking his frustration.
Say what you want about the underachieving Turkoglu, but he wears his emotions on his sleeve and his patience is beginning to wear thin.
Had Friday’s potential winner found net, maybe his mood would have been different in Sunday’s meeting with the host Thunder.
At a time when he can use any break, Turkoglu is getting none. On his first foray to the hoop, Turkoglu got bumped when he went strong by using his right hand.
There was no call and the call went against the Raptors when the officials ruled the ball went off Turkoglu’s leg and into the courtside seats for a Toronto turnover.
More than any sequence, that play summed up the way Toronto began its night.
Two dubious calls went against Turkoglu in the ensuing minutes, forcing head coach Jay Triano to sub out Turkoglu for Antoine Wright with 4:30 remaining in the opening 12 minutes.
In eight minutes, Turkoglu had two points on two attempts from the field, two rebounds, one assist and one awkward stare at veteran official Tony Brothers, who came close to teeing up Turkoglu

Raptors lose 3rd straight to Thunder

Quote:
Kevin Durant scored 29 points, Nenad Krstic had a rare three-pointer and added 16 points and the Oklahoma City Thunder beat Toronto 119-99 on Sunday night to send the Raptors to their third straight loss without all-star Chris Bosh.
Oklahoma City took control with an early 12-0 run and never got much of a challenge in the second half from the Raptors without their leading scorer and rebounder. The Thunder led by at least nine throughout the second half and were up by 28 at one point.
Jeff Green had 20 points and matched his career high with four steals, Russell Westbrook added 14 points, 10 assists and four steals, and rookie Serge Ibaka had 13 points and 10 rebounds for the Thunder

Jay Triano fumes as Raptors' slump deepens

Quote:
Team meeting in the morning?
The last time the Raptors found themselves in a predicament something like this – the last time they had a three-game losing streak, one punctuated by a thumping administered by a hungrier young team – they held the now-infamous team meeting in Washington that turned the season around.
And while the straits are not nearly as dire today as they were in early December, there was definitely something out of sync with the team Sunday night.
A 119-99 pasting at the hands of the Oklahoma City Thunder pales in comparison to the meeting-prompting 146-115 thrashing in Atlanta but the three-game losing streak Toronto's on right now has shown some glaring deficiencies.
The Raptors handled the ball like it was toxic, committing 18 turnovers that the opportunistic Thunder turned into 29 points.

Raptors fall to Thunder

Quote:
Despite being one of the youngest teams in the NBA, the Oklahoma City Thunder haven't let a two-game hiccup disrupt their pursuit of the playoffs.
Kevin Durant scored 29 points, Nenad Krstic had a rare three-pointer and added 16 points and Oklahoma City rolled to its second straight blowout, beating the Toronto Raptors 119-99 on Sunday night.
After collapsing late in consecutive losses to Phoenix and San Antonio — the two teams that had been immediately behind them in the standings — the Thunder have responded with consecutive wins in which they were never really threatened in the second half.
“That's the most impressive thing, I think, about our team is our consistency and not having a lot of slippage where we have a bad stretch,” said forward Nick Collison, the only player left from the franchise's last trip to the playoffs. “I think two or three losses is the most we've had in a row. We've always been able to come back, correct it and improve our level of play.
“I think for a young team that's impressive and hopefully we keep it going.”
The Raptors have lost three in a row without all-star Chris Bosh, who didn't even make the trip with a sprained left ankle.

Thunder rolls over Raptors

Quote:
For the second straight game, the Thunder jumped on an outmanned opponent and never let off the throttle, romping to a 119-99 win over Toronto Sunday night in the Ford Center.
Steamrolling the Raptors without All-Star Chris Bosh, who missed his fifth consecutive game, the Thunder moved within a half game of fifth-place Phoenix in the Western Conference standings.
"We treat every team the same,” said Kevin Durant, who scored a game-high 29 points. "Any given night, you can lose in this league. No matter what the team’s record is, they can come out and beat you. That’s the way we think. We respect every team we play.”
All teams say that. But Boston lost at home Saturday to the lowly New jersey Nets. Utah, Friday night, lost to Sacramento. Denver recently lost to Washington.
Meanwhile, Oklahoma City keeps taking care of business. The Thunder hasn’t lost to a team that currently has a losing record in nearly four months, a Nov. 11 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers.
"Every game, we want to establish what we do defensively,” said Thunder coach Scott Brooks. "If that’s our mindset, and all five players are engaged defensively, you know we’ll give ourselves a chance to win whether we play an elite team or a team that doesn’t have a good record.

I think it's a safe guess to think that anytime the SSG is hot with good quality photos, that it's the SSG's own modeling work with a real photographer that is sent into the Sun for their use.

Good point. I know the Sun guys are just the everyday news photographers and I'm sure most of them aren't too artsy with the camera, beyond setting up a light and hanging a tacky backdrop.

Edit: And trying to bang the girl, as the scandal ten years ago will attest to.
