Toronto Raptors Have What Dwyane Wade Wants
April 29, 2010 5 Comments

There are two major stars on two different teams and each has what the other wants. Each other!

There was no mistaking what Dwyane Wade was saying after being rolled over by the Celtics in this year’s playoffs. That was the last time the he would be on a team that doesn’t go deep into the post-season.

And Dwyane Wade is almost good enough to ensure this by himself. Key word being, almost!

The Heat are woefully thin on talent after Wade and it has been this way for some time.

As Chris Bosh left the ACC after the Raptors missed the playoffs on the final day of the season, there was no mistaking what he was telling MLSE, the Raptors, and the fans. If you want me back, the Raptors have to acquire an All-Star wing for me to play with.

The fantasy of every GM is to have an All-Star big and an All-Star wing. If you could toss in an All-Star point guard that would be nice too but that maybe beyond most teams good fortune to have. Boston being the recent exception.

Besides, a lot of solid players can look like All-Stars when playing beside one of the league’s elite. Just look at Cleveland.

And if Wade and Bosh were to play together, it should be expected that they would make a lot of average NBAers look very special.
Y NOT?

*EDIT- PLEASE DON'T POST THE ENTiRE ARTICLE AND ALSO PROVIDE THE LINK. THANKS ACIE*

well, Turkoglu wants out for one... Bosh is really distancing himself from the city and Wade wouldn't bat an eye at Toronto.

The real cherry on top is I don't have the faith in Colangelo that he can pull something like that off.

Wishful thinking. Let me have more of that
Can't imagine Bosh pitching TO to his buddy. And thats the only way it could happen

Altho Miami will have a hard time indeed assembling a playoff roster in year one.

Now this Miami talk made me think

If we trade Bosh+Turkoglu (26mil) for Beasley, Cook and picks we should receive a huge trade exception.

Question: does it cover both players or you get one TPE for each?
Answer: I guess one for each. But in this scenario we could still be looking at 16.8mil tPE for Bosh!
Lightbulb: we can then acquire almost any FA or player with this TPE, espessially from the teams that want to drop salary.
Not-obvious: will we be over the cap and able to use MLE?
Obviouos: this is a situation that BC likes.

Assembling a playoff roster. They were a playoff team the last two seasons and have $$. If they land Bosh, Amare or Boozer and then get a decent PG look out.

they have 3 players under contract, add Wade and another MAX, they'll have to get minimum contracts to fill out the roster

They'll be in the 80Mil range and will add one of those bigs and will get an upgrade @PG.

i think our best hope to land a all star wing player is to go hard after Chris Paul...

I think Lebron is more likely to resign in Cleveland than Bosh in Toronto.

Arenas for Turkoglu is a legitimate possibility. Both guys have each worked themselves out of both teams' long-term plans to the point where there really aren't that many options. Washington and Toronto each have something in common in that sense, and I think a trade could come of that.
