D. Smith: Raptors will probably make changes for tonight

Quote:

Two ways to look at it:

I would be shocked if there wasn’t something. Not necessarily as punishment or reward, but because the level of frustration is off the charts and sometimes change is good simply because it’s change.
But, on the other hand, consider this: If they do make changes, is it giving whiny players (all of whom need to play better regardless of their roles) an excuse? And knowledge that, like little screaming kids in malls, that if they yell they’ll get their way. And Lord knows what they might try next time

The Raptors, Sixers, Knicks and Nets are a combined 16-60 and have lost 32 straight games between the four of them. The sound you hear is Doc Rivers snickering.

I hope it's not wright in and derozan our, cause that would really piss me off
let's reward the whining players with an undeserved starting position

let's face it, calderon, hedu and Bosh won't go to the bench as veterans, so it's got to be derozan and/or bargnani. If it's derozan, I'd rather start rasho at the 2 than to give it to wright.

I think it might be Derozan out though moremilk..

And knowing Triano, it might be Jose/Jack to start lol.

I hope it's Amir in, Bargs out... with Bargs getting the same amount of minutes covering both Bosh/Amir's off minutes.

Hey Doug Smith, those whiny players that are you are describing are players shouting out saying that something wrong, and trying to make players accountable. Its a good thing.

"Every time something happens it's always, `It's okay, it's all right.' It's not all right," said Jarrett Jack. "Problems go by without attacking them or challenging them or bringing them to the forefront and getting them solved. We can't keep keep putting them to the back of the bus and just saying, `That's okay.' It's not all right. Everybody can't walk on eggshells around here and say, `We're playing good basketball.' We're not."

What do you want these whiny kids to do? You want them to remain quiet and do nothing like the rest of the team. I like what Bosh, Jack, and Wright are saying. Someone has to step up and say the "emperor is wearing no clothes." This is what the team needed. Just like Jack said, "Problems go without attacking them and challenging them."

I just found out the new rotation:

Jose/Belinelli
Jack/Wright
Turk/Derozan
Bosh/Bargs
Johnson/Bargs/Rasho

yeah, except that one of them has many reason not to like the coach as he's not getting any minutes lately.

plus, I'd rather have these players complain to colangelo than to the press. It's bad enough that everybody talks about Bosh leaving, this only adds to the fire.

Hmmm interesting. I like the idea of Belli as the backup PG though.

Jose and Jack haven't worked too well before but I like this lineup much more in terms of adding defense. Taking Bargs out also puts the focus back onto Hedo and Bosh as primary offensive weapons....as it should.

VERY interested to see how tonight works out.

And VERY happy for Amir. Hes deserves it.

I find the Jack / Jose very comical. I really don't get what Triano thinks he'll accomplish with that duo. I think he feels that it masks Jose's defensive deficiency's best with Jack.

ANyways stupid comment been talked about a zillion times

For once moremilk, I have to agree with you regarding the press. It should have been handled within the team.

However, regarding Wright, it doesn't matter who the player is, it could be Marcus Banks, POB, or the equipment coach. Someone had to point that changes need to be made and status quo was not enough. Sometimes leadership doesn't come from your coach or your best player, but can come from other sources. I remember Avery Johnson having leadership roles for the Spurs and Dallas when he was still a player. Avery Johnson was not one of the best players on either team, but he was a player everyone respected..
