Default The Curse of Chuck Swirsky

I was talking to my brother yesterday about how he can't stand Matt Devlin and I came to the realization that ever since Chuck Swirsky left, we've been a terrible team. Even when we were supposed to be good we were bad.

It's just a coincidence, but kinda funny considering how much I disliked Chuck. We haven't seen much success in the Matt Devlin era.

Actually we've been cursed since Stan Albeck had a stroke.

I had to re-read this part. Got it wrong the first time. Lead, it says lead.

Toupee-wearing windbag, Matt Devlin, takes the wind out of the team.

Except the team would play to get him to call it.
And they would ask him when he called the game a win.

I'm pretty sure he had something close to a 90%+ accuracy ratio of calling it before the 4th quarter.

So, while it did happen that we would occasionally blow a big lead after he went to the fridge, it was a rare thing and the players had fun with it.

I do agree, losing him actually hurt team moral, yes, it's strange but I believe it.

The curse would be more hurtful if we were actually a consistent top 4 playoff team before he left.

So we've gone from mediocre playoff team to shitty lottery team. Hardly a Caesar/Mark Anthony fall from grace...

More like a Enrique Iglesius/Mark Anthony fall from grace then?

I always thought this was incredibly jokes:

Leo's face when he puts his hand up to Chuck LOLLL

I think Leo is just so fed up with the Raptors' teams over the years that he lost all of his excitement for them. He's one of the longest commentators to be here, since 1996. Although, he does get paid so he should try to fake it a little bit.

It's funny since Matt Devlin has been here, the expectations for each team at the beginning for both of the last two seasons have been sky high. Around top 4 in the East. And the Raptors have failed miserably. Curse of the Devlin?
