Default The curse....

of Vince Carter.

That's what is afflicting this team. That's why they're so soft and such a bunch of quitters. All flash and no substance. Tons of talent, but will always be a disappointment.

VC really left an indelible stamp on this franchise.

Like how 'trane put it, the fart lingers.

How the @&%$# do we break the spell?

toughness is infectious, starting with the team's leaders. they need to commit to each other. as i said a while back, it's like that comment from elvin jones - you have to be ready to die with the motherfucker.

Yeah, I mean they bring in 9 new guys and nothing changes. It's time to take a closer look at what the constant has been since VC skipped town. Maybe that's the issue.

Exactly, you don't get a sense that they'd, as Jack said tonight, want one another in the trenches. There's no chest to chest pounding and very little angry visage happening. I don't think it has anything to do with Wince though.

The whole Vince (Wince, I like that) curse thing is just a joke but seriously folks...
It's the same damn issue year in and year out with this team no matter who they bring in around the "core". It sucks but I think it's time to throw out this "core" and get some fresh fruit.

I think we should just enroll Chris in the KG School of Asshole, seriously. Oh, and get him a fucking haircut.

I think the curse actually stems from Kevin O'Neill. We didn't appreciate his defensive principles so he placed a curse upon the Raptor's franchise with the ''Lamp smash heard 'round the world''. This particular curse deters the Raps from achieving defensive stability.

They gave a shit about the basketball product when they hired Colangelo, and they gave a shit about the hockey product when they hired Burke. They do the minimum until they realize the fans are pissed, then they take action. They should have given a shit sooner, about both.

O'neil would have smashed a lamp and stabbed peirce in the face with the remains had he been in triano's shoes. Triano's too soft

It's starting to sound like 'toughness' in the NBA is becoming synonymous with 'heart' in the NHL

THats the problem they give a shit too late. You had idiots like Babcock and JFJ running their two biggest sport properties and they expect burke and BC to clean it up?

Both GMs are dealing with crap from the past and the turnaround will take that much longer

Its a piss off

The curse can only be broken when we respect our franchise player.

That's what I heard anyway .

When this franchise gets a player worthy of the tag, he'll get all the respect in the world.

If Vince Carter and Chris Bosh are not enough for you... forget all the teams in the league, just start cheering for the Cavs. They have a franchise guy... unless he isn't up to par with your standards Dann.

Real franchise guys hold their teammates accountable for their effort and have their backs in a fight. VC and Chris never have done either one of those things.

That is the point of this thread. Maybe Chris will figure out what it means to lead a team someday. It probably won't be anytime soon or here in Toronto either.

And don't tell me to go cheer for anyone else. I've been here from before day one and I'm not going anywhere.

When Shaq and Phil Jackson left, did Kobe hold smush parker accountable? NO.

He padded the shit out of his stats, failed, and demanded Bynum be traded as well as demanding a trade for himself.

You're lucky Bosh isn't forcing BC's hands right now, although I do with he'd ask for AB to be traded .
