So all Vince Carter and Tracy McGrady needed to make the Hall of Fame was medication and a sports psychologist. Both players had the talent and skill like Kobe, but Kobe had the desire and dedication to become great. I don't want to sound cliche, but motivation and dedication come from athlete's desire to be great. It doesn't come from a medication or sports psychologist. Yes its "innate quality" that is "God-Given".

i dont think Bargnani lacks passion, but rather defensive basketball iq. i just think he looks confused out there regarding where to be, and doesnt put himself in proper positions to gather rebounds. hes always been a panicky kind of guy. seems like his mind is racing too fast at times when hes defending. worried about staying with his guy or avoiding the 3 second violation, and by the time the shot comes up, he doesnt adapt quick enough. in other words, doesnt think ahead of time.

That case is a bit different; Vince and T-Mac really were so good that they could play at a superstar level and still not perform to the best of their ability, Bargs is not THAT gifted. And even so, do you think it's impossible that both of them could have had ADD as well? A lot of people have it to varying degrees.

And Bargs does box out. Like 90% of the time. Granted, he could be more aggressive, but rebounding sometimes comes down to lucky bounces.

Look where they are today; they're a shell of their former selves. Bargs IS gifted. we've seen how his PPG increase in the course of 6yrs. he is CAPABLE. so far the only thing he's improved is ball-handling. he's never elevated his game - as one of our BIGs who is suppose to grab boards - in the rebounding department. when Reggie was out for a long time, it was Amir who had to tackle against guys that are bigger and stronger than him all because our 7ft. shooting guard is allergic in the paint. Amir had to play through an aching body. Ed Davis seems to be showing promise but I won't place any bets on this guy yet. Let's give him some more time to develop. I would like to see him bulk up and improve several skill sets such as passing, ball-handling, posting-up.

do you think if he's (Bargs) in a REAL team (Lakers, Spurs, Magic) he'd be a starter? do you think Phil Jackson will tolerate such subpar work ethic? making irrational, "the reason i don't grab boards is cause' i don't wanna play reboundball", statements? he's fortunate to be here where he's being given PLENTY of minutes. something that ALOT of players in this league are vying for to prove themselves that they CAN. I don't care if he's is (currently) the team's leading scorer. We're on a tanking mission here aren't we? I'd rather see him as reserve if he's to limit himself that way. I think this would give Davis a faster time to develop if he's given a chance to start.

One of those double-doubles he got was against the Nets when he was facing Brook Lopez who is not really any better of a rebounder than Bargs himself. So it doesn't really count as a double-double lol. Plus he allowed Brook Lopez to get 14 rebounds which is like a season high for him. Oh ya, also Bargs played 52 minutes in that game yet only managed to collect 12 boards.

brooke lopez is a much better rebounder. look at his totals his first two seasons. he has a history of averaging 8-9rpg, and imo he'll do that again. Bargs never will.

his main problem is he is slow to react to the ball, on offense he has control of the ball, but on defense he doesn't and he has no idea where the ball is landing
so its basically slow reaction and poor judgment on the ball bounces

the coaches should just get demar to shoot like 1000 threes a day with Bargs under the basket grabbing the misses going up against reggie
this way it improves demar's 3 point shooting and bargs' rebounding, at least reaction to the ball bounces
