Raptors Could Lowry win MIP?

Not sure who the other candidates would be, but you would have to think that if he continues playing like this that Kyle would have to be considered for Most improved player....

thoughts?

Yeah, Stephenson came immediately to mind.

Bledsoe and Dragic likely will also get more consideration.

I think Lowry should be in the running for it, but I see Stephenson getting it. I agree with Northern Neighbour that Bledsoe and Dragic will definitely be considered, because without those guys Phoenix would be horrible.

I could see him winning MIP, and I could also see him in the running, as LX pointed out in another thread, for All-NBA if he keeps his play up for the rest of the year.

Considering that he got snubbed from making All-Star team, winning MIP seems very realistic

Lance Stephenson is tearing it up in Indy. The kid is a triple double machine.

Bledsoe might not even return to the cour this year, and the team has been playing fine without him. Dragic has been great, but so have the Morris twins, and PJ Tucker, and Channing Frye and Gerald Green, and Plumlee. Hornacek = COY.

Lance Stephenson, his team is one of the best in the league and he's a major reason for it, his triple doubles and his flashy moves make him stand out in the public eye more
and lowry is still on the Raptors which most people still don't care about so his exposure is a disadvantage

No, I wouldn't vote for Lowry. Lowry was great in Houston. He's having his best year right now, but it's not a huge improvement compared to Houston.

It's a big improvement compared to last year. But voting based on that would be very unfair to people with genuine huge improvements. It's not Lance Stephenson's fault that Lowry had a down year in 2012-13. Or Spencer Hawes, Anthony Davis, Aaron Afflalo.. I think there are many candidates who are more deserving of the award than Lowry. Even DeRozan is a better candidate than Lowry.

this is what I meant with my laconic answer

lowry is not vastly improved this year, he's been like this for 3 years. For whatever reason, last season he couldn't get his act together. He's playing now the way I was hoping he would last season.

there are lots of genuine improved guys out there (although bledsoe for me falls in the same category as kyle). From plumlee and dragic to reggie jackson, afflalo, turner or isiah thomas. And that's not counting those who were expected to improve (2nd year players like davis, ross, lillard or drummond etc). I put plumlee in the 1st category because nobody expected him to improve THAT much.

Right, Isaiah Thomas, Cousins too. Paul George made massive improvement again, and I think normally he might be the favorite, but voters probably won't give him two MIPs in a row.
