Default Could DeRozan be our new recruiter?

I've noticed that he seems to have a good rapport with players, especially younger players.

He's also never really hidden the fact that he likes Toronto.

Now, assuming that he continues to get better and better and becomes, say a secondary scorer, do you think he could be a guy used in recruiting FA's here?

He's apparently very close with Jennings. Granted, Jennings is not a pure PG, but his offensive acumen would fit well beside Demar, since Demar is not a franchise scorer.

Demarr AND Jennings? Might be nice! I'll choose to ignore the things they say about Jennings. Boy can ball and that's all that matters.

i don't stop to say he can be our ambassader !

and for jennings, i can't agree more.
and jennings play in UK before the draft, so play out of US don't make problem.
i would be please if they can land him here.

i don't know which SF or Big C he knows, but that would help too.

He could be a good recruiter for us in the future if he continues to play well. He seems to have good ties with other NBAers, especially dudes from LA.

And yeah I'm not a huge fan of Jennings game but he is a good player, wouldn't care for him on the Raps though

Man if you ask me, one thing Toronto could always do with is a guy helping out the city's reputation as an NBA market. This is what makes the young guns thing refreshing. Here you have these cool young American baller guys raving about how much they like Toronto as a city. Nothing but good can come out of it. on a slighlty unrelated note, too bad Weems shit the bed this year.

nah i know man. I was just kinda shooting off the cuff. Just had high hopes for him and injuries combines with him trying to do too much haven't been kind to him this year.

i agree with that. i had high hopes too. definitely hasn't lived up to that, but there's a lot of season left. if anything, we're losing more games and his value will be lower next year. there's a positivein that somewhere, i'm sure of it...

Derozan, IMO, is doing it the right way. He is getting ugly hoops. He hasn't even come close to what he will be as a pure shooter in about 2-3 years. I have always hated two things about him;

1. He was too often just a spectator on the floor. You never heard his name, something many rookies do.

2. He was on for one game, off for 3-4. And that was what scared me the most because ANYONE can hit for a nice number here and there in his position, Hell, i dropped 24 one game in HS hahahaha.

What I see now is the same effort every night it seems. Now its not been long enough to convince me this is who he is, but if he finishes the season attacking like this, hits the gym hard and packs on 10 more lbs, and works on his game, then this guy might really be as good as we once hoped!!!

Here's to getting marginally lucky with a pick for once!!!!

He is already acting as a recruiter by playing well, by being recognized as a smart, hard-working athlete and by showing his appreciation for the Raptors as an organization and Toronto as a city.

Not sure don't quote me on this, but I remember someone tweeting him something along the lines of "Do you think it'd be better for you if you got traded" and he replied "No, I love Toronto"

Jennings and DeRozan will take their talents to Los Angeles and join Griffin and take over Los Angeles when Kobe retires. And it's gonna be a "Decision" that I'm not gonna hate. They'll start a Clippers dynasty....

Remember what happened when Bosh tried to "recruit" some players? Apparently they laughed in his face....

The best thing DeMar could do is recruit Jennings. And to all of you saying you want no part of Jennings, just shut up. He would be the best point guard this franchise has ever seen.
