Could Casey get fired?
I know with this team it's all about patience and developing the youngsters right now, but we are also supposed to compete for the play-offs, Casey said that much himself.
But if the Raps would (god forbid) stumble out of the gate, and go 1-10, would Casey get fired? It's obvious he's done a lot for this ballclub, introducing a defense oriented culture and such. But if somehow the players (f.e. Bargs) wouldn't react to him anymore, would BC fire Casey or would Bargs be the first one out the door? We know how much BC loves AB... After bad starts, usually the coach get's the axe. Look at the Lakers. How much would it take for Casey to get fired? And perhaps would Colangelo be fired with him? BTW: Not hating on Casey, I love the dude! |

It's five games in, i really thing we should just breath. He'll start getting everyone on the same page defensively and we'll get better over the next month, judge him around the new year. Before then it'll be a rollercoaster.

But realistically, how often do coaches (who first raise expectations by promising a playoff spot) survive 1-10 starts...? Even on rebuilding teams coaches get fired I guess... |

Not a chance, Casey is a damn good coach.
I even throught the Brown firing was way too early, but that being said, there was some criticism about his hiring in the first place, and he had super high expectations. |

No. Even if BC gets the can at the end of the year he would still stay. Only thing I would say is I wouldn't mind trying to get D'Antoni or SVG as an assistant coach. They could both really help our offensive sets and give Casey pointers on rotations.
