Was thinking the same thing. With the way Lowry is playing I could see him demanding the same money DD is making and he will ore than likely get it.

The way Knight is playing, I don't expect Milwaukee to go after Lowry. Besides, they aren't likely to have enough cap space. They are going to be at ~6-8 mil, depending on where they draft and what they do with 2nd rounders.

Orlando is a lot more attractive as a city obviously, and their core young talent(Oladipo, Harris, Harkless, Vucevic) is better than Milwaukees. Plus they have Afflalo, who is one of the best players at his position. With another lottery pick, and players developing this season with a lot of minutes as mentioned above, they're really only a few veteran players away from being really really good IMO.
I agree. However if they get Smart or Exum they won't need Lowry.

on the flipside, you don't need a lot of competion, just one team with lots of cap space and big love for lowry. Bottom line is, it's extremely unlikely we'll keep him for anything but market or above market value. Still, losing him would be even worse, unless we somehow get something better elsewhere.

This may be one of the reasons MU may still look to trade him, regardless of how well we're playing. If we keep going with kyle, we'll end up in a really weak spot bargaining-wise and some GMs don't like being in tight corners like that (like Presti for example).

But don't you know, Presti is a lazy GM who only gets lucky!

Knight isn't a quality starting PG, despite his recent good play. He may have the worst vision of any starting PG in the league. He's just not a good passer or playmaker for others.

Milwaukee is likely to re-sign Wolters and Raduljica, so after that they'll likely be left at the 6-8 million mark, since they're unlikely to dump any of the contracts they gave out this off season(since they're ridiculous and no one will want them).

So again, I think it comes down to Orlando, and if they do get Smart or Exum, even they may not be in the running for Lowry.

I think ultimately Lowry will end up in the same scenario as Jennings, in that there isnt a big marker out there for starting PGs, though its a bit different since no one really wanted Jennings in the first place because he's a loser.

If that's the case, we may be able to re-sign him for 7 or 8 million instead of 10, which I think would be a bit of an overpay(but I wouldnt be surprised to see him get 10, remember, you have to factor in Ontarios ridiculous taxes!)

Ya the draft and Exum and smart will skew the entire thing. I think ORL has lots of talent and its just young. They will be a quality team, I just don't think it would be nmext year. Who knows though... maybe Lowry would find playing with Parker attractive if they got lucky.
