Oh by the way, I really think this team needs to bring in some vets who play defense. Shane Battier, Raja Bell, and Tayshaun Prince all come to mind.

i like leonard too Jeff, but i think thats the only scenario where he becomes a Raptor. I would not use the 5th pick on him.

But I'm fairly certain he won't be going top 3 anymore.
If Williams is available at 4, the Cavs would for sure take him if they dont trade their pick.

With Casey coaching Bismack it'll really speed things up. To improve the team right away we will need a big in Bismack, if we choose another way it may have some diminishing returns.
Agree with your view on JJ and Bayless and I would add that next year's draft is full of SF talent that decided to stay in school or overseas this year (CBA affect). So a void to fill would appear if we move Calderon, making Wright and Walker attractive.

Disagree with Bismack as a pick at any time during this draft. If Kanter or Valanciunas (even if we have to wait a year for him) are available at #5, take them. Biyombo is a project no matter how long his arms are, not just to transition to the NBA but to learn the game of basketball. We already have a possible developing player under contract to play center in Solomon Alabi, the defensive player of the year his last year at Florida State. He's similar to Dalembert and all reports say he is making progress after finishing rehabbing his knee.

http://www.hoopsworld.com/Chat.asp?CHAT_TOPICS_ID=1687

"Our Hoopsworld guys in Florida have seen him working out and say he looks and feels good again.

Solo was a defensive POY in his conference but was hurt/rehabbing all of his first NBA season - if he is 100% and gets into great shape over the summer - he could surprise a lot of us next season."

I don't think Bismack is in the running at all, my guess he falls out of the lottery...I think it would be Walker, Jan, Kanter or Jonas. If there is a lock out, which I think there will be then Jonas' buy out is irrelevant as he wouldn't play in the NBA till the following season anyhow -I think he's still in the running for a top 5 pick.

Why wouldn't we pick Kemba??? Guys on NBA TV are so high on him!

They think he gonna win the rookie of the year!

winning rookie of the year doesn't mean you'll be the best player of the draft class, especially when most of the guys in the draft are raw and need time to develop

Maybe not but it certainly means you pick him w/#5 in a weak draft over a project big that may or may not pan out just because he has long arms.

It's very interesting to see all this threads about this draft. Why?

1. Not long time ago everyone agreed this is a weak draft
2. As the Raptors ended up with the #5 many suggested to trade the pick away
3. Many wrote that the draft is a crap-shot
4. The next year draft will be stockpiled with talent
5. NOW: how many want a second pick in the 6-10 range or want to move up to grab pick #1 or #2?

According to this source:

Draft buzz: Knight likes Cavs -- at No. 1 - TrueHoop Blog - ESPN

This is the list Smith was referring to:
Quote:
Toronto has narrowed its choices to four -- Knight, Jonas Valanciunas, Bismack Biyombo and Kawhi Leonard.

I hope Colangelo doesn't fuck up this draft AGAIN!! He needs to select the most talented player available, none of this potential bullshit, or some unknown player from oversea's. Fuck, I hope he can get Kemba Walker.

Nobody ahead of us wants him so i would say he can have him if he wants him, but it looks like he doesn't.
