I wonder how many moves this organization has made over the years that are perfectly encapsulated by that statement.

This pathetic situation is just another in a long line of head scratching stupidity coming out of MLSE. Meanwhile the championship drought continues for the forseeable future.

Everything MLSE is amateurish, well unless you need a condo...

Well, to be fair, they're also useful if you need help convincing 3 levels of government to use taxpayer dollars to build a rickety soccer stadium in the middle of nowhere that will house your future soccer team that you will proceed to completely missmanage.

So they're good at:

a) Building Condos
b) Extracting money from government to further their long term goals of missmanaging sports franchises and eventual world domination and
c) Figuring out how to convince people that it makes sense to pay $11 for watered down draft beer.

Am I missing anything?

the media is making the BC's contract status more of a story than it is, especially the MLSE dork speaking up. his contract renewal is dependant on the sale of the team. it sucks for BC, but it's business. Being that he's a business man, he should understand why he hasn't received an answer on his pending contract. besides, BC knows that his value isn't as high as it was before, so receiving the same figures elsewhere is highly unlikely. he'll happily sit down and shut up for that extra 1-2 million he'll receive annually.

MLSE gets more embarrassing by the day.

With regards to the euro comment... at least europeans WANT to play here. At least Bargnani signed for 5 years (you can debate that he sucks all you want, but at the time we were all happy he wanted to stay).

True. At least we can still attract Euro-players.
Some people don't see that sadly we donít have the luxury of NY, Boston, LA or Florida to attract big names.

David Stern: "With the first pick of the two thousand and eleven NBA draft, the Toronto Raptors select Donatas Montiejunas from Lithuania."

The camera cuts to Raptors war room, where Colangelo is laughing maniacally.

The guy hasn't played in 2 years.... this could be a deal breaker. it's too much of a question mark for a high draft pick.
Imho he looks gifted and all on youtube, but I rather have someone with proven record that I can relate to in the last 1-2 years.

agree. People here treat Bargs like he is a busted draft pick like Greg Oden.
He is not a perfect player, and not the main guy, but he can become a very good player in this league.
