Just giving you the heads up. Not like there's much to talk about from the Raptors standpoint, but i'll post the interview when it's available.

Wanna to sell us the point how valuable our expiring contracts and trade exceptions are Bryan? Seven months ago after the Bosh trade, you were bragging about how valuable the trade exception and expiring contracts were. Its too bad they are worth nothing, so now BC is going to sell us about all the CAP room we have, and the potential free agents we can acquire. Yes look at your track record:

Last summer, we acquired Kleiza.
Two summers ago, we bought Hedo.

So the Denver gets multiple first round picks, Gallaniro, Chandler, and Felton
and the Utah gets multiple high first round picks, Devin Harris, and Favors

and the Raptors get cap space.

I WISH, but in this age of information technology, I assume we would have heard about it by now.

I'll try and find a link to listen to this, and re-cap if there's anything worth-while.

Maybe he is going to step down for being a lame ass GM. How the fuck is he gonna sugar coat this one? Everyone in the east gets stronger and we give up a first rounder for a guy who was in the d-league 3 weeks ago. Fuck we could have got Erden and Harrongody for a second round pick? Aren't they young developing cheap contracts?

The team is lottery bound for years so we won't need to worry how shitty this draft is.

I can only dream that MLSE figures out another GM to lead this team after this season is over!

What the hell gave you the impression he was gonna be wheeling and dealing today? Seriously, it was reported the last few days that nothing much if at all was gonna happen.

We got nothing for Bosh but CAP SPACE, while other teams got some good assets in return for their franchise player. The Raptors and Cleveland are being used as the prime example of what not to do with your franchise player.

It is one thing to say that but another to go through with it......i mean come on Jeff......even you said it was "depressing" seeing some of the deals that went through.........really we couldn't have offered Houston a better deal then what they got for Brooks? Or trying to get Perkins? I would have at least liked to see something other than offering Reggie around the league for which is no surprise to me , were no takers.

the tpe is valid for one calendar year, so as i understand it we can use it up to a few days into free agent season. it may be that it nets us nothing in the end, but it's not like it just expired with teh passing of this trade deadline.

He's up next...

I'm tired of the idiots saying he didn't make a move before the deadline.

Uhhhm, he did, but it was just not AT the deadline.

Recap:

Talk about cornering the market on Johnsons

BC - so what if I sign Trey Johnson, good result last night, have had quality wins, just not consistent, haven't have enough to close out games, we like what's taking place, plan to keep developing young players, and keeping flexibility.

Q - James Johnson...D league... trade initially... 29th ish pick for a guy who was 16. Why would the Bulls do that unless they didn't think much about him...

Bulls - drafted him at 16, pretty high prospect, one issues were discipline, maturity, weight, but no one disputed his talent. Talented, Tough kid - martial arts world champion, father was a kickboxer.

Gets to Chicago, wasn't practicing everything they wanted him to practice. Coaching change, Luol is playing well, out of rotation, take flexibility and they get more cap space, and can sign someone who gets bought out?

Looking at 30-40 players, and no one at 29 that will supercede his talent. No need to add more youth with 2 picks. JJ has a year and a half of development

Q-Draft Class...Some Executives say..."hate this draft"

Not that you have to "hate" it, not star driven. Years from now, will be a lot of impact players. Wasn't convinced that the 29th pick would have been that guy.

New CBA may make people drop out of draft.

Q- Talk about moving pick? One you have left?

Want to hold on to that thing. Had a lot of chance to move it, some interesting deals pop up that were worth an evaluation. NOT worth giving it up right now. Put a plan in place, and sticking to it.

Q- Lottery pick... Anything can happen with ping pong balls

Will know in early may (17th). Then we'll know, trade season isn't over yet. All non-playoff teams can start deals after the regular season ends- June 30th to pursue deals. Possible use of TPE -9.126 balance on that.

Deals that happen now, go onto tax calculation, deals after last game doesn't. May be in a better position to do that. May or may not use trade exception. Helped acquire Bayless, Johnson, Ajinca, Pick back. More flexibility. helped unload Jack's contract.

Q-Contractual situation. Nothing's happened yet... Ever increasing chance you're leaving...?

Irrelevant. Will be addressed at the right time, now is not the right time, more concerned with getting this team better.

Q- So...after the season?

"the right time is the right time"

Also, if he uses it after the season ends, the salary they take back isn't added into the tax calculation for the '10-'11 season.

this really is the crux. they may not use it, but why pay more now when you can use it more cheaply later?
