Colangelo wants to play small, not done dealing

"The thing it really depends on is what else shakes out in respect to our roster moves," explained Colangelo. "As you see him now he'll play some two and some one but the way we're designed right now we're going to be playing a lot of smaller, unorthodox style and you're going to have to have some three guard rotations. I wouldn't be surprised to see him out there with another point guard and another two guard because the way we're going to play right now based on our current personnel there's going to be some great opportunities for that three guard rotations."

he clearly wants to model the team after the 76ers except a much better run and gun offense

I read it as Colangelo saying that with the personnel they have, they will be forced into playing small. Not so much that he wanted it that way. If he does want to play small, then why would he have attempted the Chandler deal?

Should we have a guard at the center position?

Chandler would have fit in simply for the fact that he's able to play in a fast break system. Look at New Orleans. Paul would lead the break, Chandler trails, sets a high screen, rolls and finished with an alley oop. I imagine thats what BC was thinking when he was trying to complete that deal. And really when I think about it, there aren't that many quick teams in the east contending for the palyoffs outside of Miami, Orlando and Atlanta. The rest play at a grind it out pace. This could be quite beneficial to the Raptors to play this style now that they have the personnel.

chandler is one of the most mobile 7 footers in the league. very long and athletic, his game is running the floor getting hustle points and cleaning up the mess off of rebounds, and a few alley oops here and there. he's very tough on guarding his man as well as help defense

so he would have been a pretty good fit, its too bad we didn't end up with him

The most exciting thing with the Raptors is that Colangelo changes at least half of the roster every year.

And the funny thing is the final roster going into the season actually looks like a playoff team.
