Default Colangelo: "That's it"

I present to you, your Toronto Raptors for the 2008-2009 season.

As BC states in Smith's article this morning, he's done with transactions and this will be the roster we start with this fall.

I think we should be pretty satisfied of how thinks have worked out even if we dont like any particular player.

We wanted a new look but with a similar idea. And thats what we have.

Regardless of how we do in the season, well done BC!!

Ah, not a bad line-up at all. I can't wait for our starting 5 to step on the court together though. You have Bosh-O'Neal who I think will be an amazing tandem. Than, Calderon and Parker who work so well together and top it off with Kapono, who will get a lot of open looks like in Miami.

Off the bench I think we're looking nice too. Moon - Ukic - Hump - Jawai - Adams - Graham - Will. We have nice depth and I hope SMitch can use it well.

Why the negativity Ivan?

I mean I guess 2nd place is a little too confident but I think this team could pull off a 3rd place.

Hardly see them reaching the post season in the east? lol how bad do you really think we are? IMO the lineup is improved from the last 2 years slightly and should be good for 44-47 wins range making us easily make the postseason in the east.... now the playoffs, i hate to say i see a 1st round exit and BC making a big move after JO's contract is up in a couple.

I'm not as pessimistic as Krazy.. but I'm not as optimistic as the rest of you... this is a playoff team, but no where NEAR the level we need to be.. let alone a top 3/4 team in the East...

Barely make the playoffs? What eastern Conference are you watching Krazy Ivan? Sure Philadelphia got better too, but we are definately still a playoff team. It will come down to how many games we miss do to injury to our starters of course, as it does every season, but if we can avoid any significant injuries like broken ankles (i.e Garbajosa's) then I think we should be fine. When we are healthy we can compete with ANYONE in the East. We did it last year without JO, so I see no reason why we won't do it this year. I can't wait to see JO and CB4 working together on the block!!! Who are you gonna leave on help D when Jose and Ukic penetrate? Man I still wish we had a true slasher on the wing........c'mon Jamario/Bargnani, grow some cahonas and be that guy!!!!!!I know Bargnani's not a true slasher, but my fav highlights of him are when he drives hard and finishes at the rim, not when he makes a couple 3's. As that is usually just before or just after he misses a bunch. He is a good FT shooter, and needs to get to the line more IMO and start putting more pressure on the D. If he can be more aggressive, I think our front row will wear some teams out this year with:

JO
Bosh
Barg
Jawai

Let's call MLSE to give us a 5M or so exception and make a 1 year qualifying offer for Deng

The season will tell if this is a job well done. As of right now the roster looks to be better than it did in either of the other two seasons with Colangelo at the helm.

Honestly, I've secretly hated "bring out the salami and Cheese mama..." since the first time it went down. If I had to be anyone to leave the booth it would have been Leo though. He knows his stuff but the man can be annoying.

Outside the obvious, being Jermaine O'Neal, I'm really excited to see Roko and Nathan hit the floor. Not to mention I'm looking forward to seeing what a stronger, more experienced and now 100% healthy Andrea Bargnani can do playing in his natural position, the 4.

couldn't agree more about Leo.....I liked the energy Swirsky brought to the broadcasts and will miss that.

Besides exchanging decent but injury prone PG for a decent but injury prone forward Raps did nothing else worth mentioning.
