Another NBA GM in Italy to watch the captain of Virtus Roma

Toronto Raptors President and GM Bryan Colangelo was today in Rome to scout Gigi Datome.

Colangelo was at the practice of Virtus Roma to watch the forward, captain of the team.

Last Sunday another NBA GM, John Hammond of the Bucks, was in Roma to watch the game between Virtus and Bologna to see Datome in action.

Gigi Datome has one year left on the contract with Virtus Roma but he could move overseas after this season.

Datome is averaging 17.3ppg and 5.7rpg in Serie A.

On his wiki page he looks like a bit of a stick insect.

Meh, Virtus sucks, Italian league is not very strong either. He was a bench warmer in a Euroleague team. Im having hard time believing he got much better..

Is that a bad thing? based on what BC got from european teams I say he did pretty well...Andrea Bargnani (you can't argue against his talent), Garbo, anthony parker , Jonas, ,,, I m sure I m forgetting others that were bad ( hello will solomon) but all in all I say he did better than other GMs on that front.

Please fire BC.

It is now very obvious that he does not learn from his mistakes. At all.

Oh, its been my conclusion for a while now that he needs to go, but this just further confirms my previous thoughts.

Yeah well, he'll likely be kept on at least one more season.

Just give the guy a chance. He can try out here for seven years or so. Nothing to lose.
