^Terrible D in that starting lineup but I'd still take it in a heartbeat.

...stay away from Monta.

on topic, Jeff's right. It must have been the contract situation more than anything.

I would have loved a line up of
Amir/Jonas
Bargnani
Iguodala
Fields/Ross
Lowry

Balanced scoring, more star power and utility, and way good defence.

I like when he mentions Ross and DeRozan are going at it evenly. Ross is after that starting role. Hope DeMar works his ass off from this.

In the rumored Iguodala scenario the Raptors would have had to part ways with promising guard DeMar DeRozan, third-year forward Ed Davis, guard Jose Calderon and a first-round pick.

that most definitely is a lot especially with the first round pick thrown in there.

Hmmmmm, interesting. A lot to give it up but man the only player that would be hard to give up there for me is derozan. The pick, we don't really need at this point and won't be that great anyway. And if Philadelphia threw in a decent filler or a 2nd rounder i'd do it.

Lowry (vet min?/Lucas)
Fields (Ross/Anderson)
Iguodala (Kleiza/Anderson)
Bargnani (Amir/Acy)
Valanciunas (Gray/Magloire)

And if Iguodala stays two seasons and bolts we'd be left with Lowry (if we re-sign him), Fields, Bargs, Valanciunas, Ross and have plenty of capspace to replace Iguodala at the 2/3. Makes you think but it's certainly intreguing.

that's a ridiculous trade for a possible two-year rental
I love igoudala, but he's not that good. That's more than NJN gave for Deron. Heck, it's a lot more than Orlando got for howard

I wouldn't even be on board with jose/ed/pick or jose/ed/demar, at most I'd give jose/ed

it definitely is a lot to give up. but i kind of like it. im not the biggest Demar fan. and i understand he's young and has tons of potential, im just not sold on any of it. i never have been. he's a shooting guard that cant shoot very well or defend, he doesnt attack the rim as much as he should, he doesnt rebound the ball, his ball handling needs improving. There arent many aspects of his game that are irreplaceable and i think Ross would fit as a great replacement.

but i still see a lot going out for a guy that could very well leave after a season.

The truth is even more insane. I would not give up Ross, Davis, Jose and next years 1st for Iggy and his contract, which is what they asked for.

It's more insane to you to have to give up Ross over Derozan?

Giving up DD and the pick is a lot... Ed is fodder, Jose a solid vet.... but I think Philly got a bit greedy. It's close, with or without the pick.

i agree.

DD, Ed, Jose woulda been an acceptable trade imo. Maybe one decent other thing from 76ers, a rotation player.

but not with the pick as well.

Tell me what that pick will get us? Chances are we're trading it next summer or sonner anyway.

Keep in mind Jeff, that the inclusion of the pick means that this deal would preclude the Lowry deal, and we wouldn't have gotten him too. This deal was probably reliant on the Nash signing.

to me mid 1st round pick = another piece, so we'd be giving 4 decent pieces for iggy, too much imo as 3 pieces is already pushing it for my tastes. Could maybe use the logic of "gotta give up a lot to get the top players" but not for 4 pieces imo.

thought the rockets agreement would complicate things, DanH has now pointed out wouldn't even be possible anyway.

I totally would have done that deal if I knew Iggy would stay beyond 2 years. Heck, that's the scenario I favour if anything.

Was thinking if Colangelo made this trade, maybe Lakers wouldnt have gotten Howard hmmmm?

Not a fan of 3 young pieces + Calderon for Iguodala.

I think ED + Caleron + filler for Iguodala would be a good trade

I can't believe the idea of that trade is still being entertained. Iguodala is not a franchise player, and to give up all those valuable pieces, we better be getting back a franchise player.

Not a fan of Iguodala at that price.

Good call BC!
