Default Colangelo Looking For Versatility

All the more reason why Diaw's likely going to be a Raptor soon.

So if Bayless and Mayo are skilled shooting guards who have the potential to play the point, they have plenty of leverage.

"The versatility of players has become advantageous for teams," Colangelo said. "If you can play multiple positions or defend multiple positions, that's nice to have. I really only have two players at single positions — T.J. Ford (at point guard) and Rasho Nesterovic (at center). Everyone else has some versatility, and that's something we look for."

He's the problem though:

Toronto is looking to make a deal for Phoenix's Boris Diaw and has talked to the Suns. But Phoenix has no interest in Raptors point guard T.J. Ford or anyone else on Toronto's roster. While Toronto tries to get a third team involved, the Suns appear open to moving Diaw. President Steve Kerr and others have been privately questioning Diaw's commitment to basketball.

Id take Diaw over Jermaine Oneal

the pros about this trade:
- makes everyone better
- wont stunt Bargs growth (if he has any growth left in him)
- can play 2,3,4,5 and some say 1
- above average rebounder

cons:
-cant score for shit 10 ppg in 30 mpg
-not an outstanding defender (something we need)
- 17th round pick gone

as for jermaine oneal, 21 million & knee problems
no thanks!

Kuzzy please think before you talk..All you've mentioned is JO's negatives. First of all, his contract will disappear in another season or 2. 2nd, it's not that he's crap. It's that Indiana is crap and he did what VC did to us, quit. An injury as an excuse to not play. I want JO but I don't blame him neither. JO being paired up with Tinsley for 3 years would piss me off too.

yeah i thought before i wrote that msg.
Jermaine Oneals hitting 31, i dont know about you but ive watched him play last season and it was a complete joke. Hes moving like hes 7-5, id understand if he settled for jumpshots but he didnt, he was just unbelieveably slow.
so yes he does have knee problems, he got knee surgery and usually after knee surgery when your 31 your not going to be as good as you used to be. In my opinion jermaine oneal was no more then a chris bosh, as for today who knows he could be anywhere from DNP to 15ppg and 8rpg.
If thats worth 21 million in your eyes, i think you need to think before you talk.

The pacers played SO much better when he came back to finish the year. Isn't that what you want? A guy who makes everyone else better? He demands attention in the post and will most likely thrive in a reduced role and new opportunity. This by far is the best of the proposed deals

Dude, I'm no Pro athlete, I got two steel hips when I was 29 and 33, don't you blab on about what you can recover from. I'll run you off a court baby!!!

Anyhow, all I'm saying Kuzzy is that we are far displaced from the Bobby Orr times of archeic knee surgeries. JO had a knee problem, not problems, he tried to play through it and failed. He fixed it, now is ready to get back and go. His other issue, a badly spraigned ankle, is 100% as of three years ago. In fact, he should be fine. Hell a good chunk of his missed games, after those two issues, came from a suspension.

Dude is fine.

He's 29 and turning 30 this fall. And I think its time for you to get your eyes tested because he's not a complete joke. O'Neal doesn't want to play in Indiana. He's been asking Bird and Walsh to trade him for close to 2 years now. That my friend can result in a poor effort, so maybe that's what your seeing. But hell, I wouldn't want to play in Indiana either. That franchise has been hurting every since that night at the Palace of Auburn Hills.

Change is good and change can bring Jermaine back to the All-Star level he's played before.

colangelos not making the deal, because hes still on Bargs nuts.
so dream on boys, and im actually thankful that hes still on his nuts.
because im seeing 20/20 vision and many will argue with this...
contract wise, health wise, and impact wise (3combined)...
rasho>J.Oneal
You guys will see what I mean next season.
and I still got my fingers crossed for Bargs to!

People have to stop banking on Andrea. Expect the worse and hope for the best. That's what I'm doing now. Anythingmore from Andrea than what he gave us last year is an improvement. Anything less gets him on the earliest flight out of Toronto next season. No more "babying" this overrated #1 pick. He's got to buck-up and get out there.

Bargnani is gonna be fine.

And two year behind O'Neal will cement that.

Y'all is short sighted.

I've got a suggestion.

How's this for versatility?

How about some guys who can:

1)defend
2)rebound
3)kick someone's ass if need be

I guess Diaw's all right. I mean, we all heard the man, he's looking for versatility and we all know Diaw is full of that. But does this mean no JO and Maggette??

diaw is pure speculation, why on earth would Phoenix want TJ? They couldn't give a fuck about what happens two years from now (otherwise they wouldn't have traded for O'Neal) - they are really moving all in. They need player who can produce now. If they give Diaw away, they will have a major hole at SF ... They would expect somebody like that in return, not a PG who has a reputation for sulking on the bench.
