In my opinion, contracts like Fields hurt us a lot more than DD. DD right now is playing at around a 15 PER which is good enough to start on most borderline playoff teams. We're at the point of a franchise where we're nowhere close to competing for a championship and need to simply get back to that position first.

and bc should explain to me, why the defense sucks so extremely in times were jv is not on the court? saying that our defense is bad because we have a rookie center is not enough for me, especially when this rookie center is as talented as jv who has good skills used wrong
I agree!
I but the thing is that BC needs to point the finger some where & JV isn't going anywhere unless BC gets fired & the next GM doesn't want to keep him.
If he were to point the finger at AB then it would hurt his trade value. & kill his own credibility at the same time.

I really think a trade is coming soon & that Bargs & Jose will be gone.

Didn't want to start a new thread for this, but let's say we get the 3rd pick and this is a bad draft, can we waive the top 3 protection and give it to Houston?

it goes to OKC and not sure if they would give us our rights back for that pick

I hope BC does really take into account the long-term health of the club.

No, he's suggesting giving them the pick... and if they agreed, yeah, but hoping to win the lottery the next season too would be irrationally idealistic.

Can't think of a scenario with the Raps landing a top3 pick this year then giving it away for nothing to OKC.

agreed... it's lunacy. If anything we should forfeit anyone suggesting that! Trying to give it to Houston though is just mindblowing cause I doubt OKC would approve!

Colangelo would be finished in any normal universe. I think if you except the responsibility and you fail, you bite the bullet. I think BC's failure to step down is very telling. The choices of coaches and players were all his. He built this much hyped chemistry. This team does have talent. Unfortunately, almost all of that talent would be sitting on any other mediocre NBA teams' bench. Bargs could start on a few teams as an outside shooter (think Lakers). JV, DD, and Lowry (maybe Ed and TR) have enough talent to keep. However, all this vaunted chemistry smells like sulphuric acid. If I was making decisions about this franchise, I'd fire the GM (I can't believe this hasn't been done). Blow this sucka up!
