Some one asked a question that made me question Bosh: when was the alst time a team built around a 4 spot guy.....that was back in the 80's when bird was playing BC replied. MY question is that most teams have deadly sg's and we have a rookie and an old vet (who is doing good but still we could have way better) I think that if we can trade Bosh for a decent center, then we will be better off without him beucase there is a good reason why teams have not built around their PF's

this just came to mind? the league has been perimeter-oriented for the last 10 years.... I thought it was obvious that great guard play dominates...

Really?

Minnesota did an excellent job when they brought in Cassell and Spree to help KG. They were a Casell injury away from going to the finals and KG won the MVP.

Tim Duncan is a PF and SA has done a GREAT job building around him.

Dirk went to the Finals in 2006 and their team looks very dangerous this year as well with some key additions...

3 concrete examples from the past 10 years right there.

Right now this team is a Joe Johnson/Caron Butler/Iggy type of player away from being a legit top 4 team in the east, or even a lesser player as long as they're athletic and have lateral quicks. It was great to here him talk about wanting to keep Amir, wanting another athletic wing player and also it was great to hear him talk about this team lacking mental toughness.

Gotta say, he also sounds like he's anticipating to have to deal one of the PG's, likely Calderon i would imagine.

You're dreaming if you think we're one player away from contending. Dreaming! We have the worst defence in the league, coming close to in league history and you think adding an offensive player will fix all that?

I agree we need that type of player but we also need to get a coach to motivate the players and replace some of our soft defensive guys like Calderon with upgrades.

Getting a better coach is a given. Do that and add an athletic 2-3 with lateral quicks (which means defending his position) and imo we're up there talent wise. I believe Triano isn't the man for the job in Toronto, and we should get a no nonsense experienced coach, but that's a seperate issue.

Jack/?/Banks
Johnson/Derozan/Beli
Wright/Turk/Weems
Bosh/Amir/Evans
Bargs/Amir/?

Solid lineup and much better defensively. Add the right coach and we're at home to start the playoffs next year imo. Not that we have a snowball's chance in hell to get Johnson, but oh well!

Interesting that Bryan was hinting at something going on between Jack and Calderon, similar to Ford and Calderon...

call me stupid, but would any of you guys trade Bosh for johnson? I'd be diggidy down with that sign and trade. Aside from the fact they have a really good PF in smith, I don't think Bosh would want to be in ATL, their fans are bullix. BULLIX!

1.we're not that mentally tough, only sometimes
2.people were in bosh's head at the all star game
3.wright is gone
4.amir is stickin around probably
5.we have no god damn clue WHAT Bosh is doin because we're all over the place!

I really think we need to unload Calderon and swap Bargnani for a more defensive, hustling center(a la Perkins) in addition to the top notch SG.

Just adding another guy that scores makes for too much offense on the court. There's not enough ball to get Bosh his 20+, Hedo his 12, AB his 18 and new guy his 20ish.

I agree with jeff.

If we were lucky enough to enough to add Joe Johnson while keeping Amir, Wright, DD and Weems we'd be in a GREAT position next year.

I've already seen a major improvement in our D over the last 3 games since we've started Weems/Wright. I would expect that to continue next season and perhaps improve even further if we managed to ditch Hedo and or Jose.

He was saying that they've fallen in line with their roles and that it's a balance between having depth at PG or possibly having too much depth at that position. He said that everything is fine but who knows what will be said as they sit down after the season at the exiting interviews. I actually think Calderon will say what he said 3 years ago, "i believe i'm a starting PG", which will be followed by him being dealt. Jack is going nowhere because of what he brings for his salary. That is of course unless the thoughts around here are true, and Calderon is untradeable (which i highly doubt).

IMO, Caldy/Wright/Bosh/Rasho/POB won't be back next season. Hopefully Amir can be re-signed.

You're right, of the two, I'd expect Calderon to speak out. Then again, he is the starter right now so he doesn't really have anything to complain about. Jack was signed to come off the bench and/or play the 2 spot. He shouldn't have a problem with his current role as he knew this would be his role when he signed in Toronto. I did sense Jack was a little displeased with being replaced as the starter a few weeks ago, but he seems to be over that..

Jose would be a really nice fit in the triangle offense.
