Lightbulb Be Colangelo For a Day

If you were the Raptors GM for a day and could offer any proposals assuming they're reasonable-all trades will go through if in reasonable favor(No Kobe for Brezec); What may you do in that day to help out the raps? Whether it's rebuild, or trade for players, or signing UFAs, you name it here. Post your ''GM for a day'' experience and share with RF on how you would improve the Raptors.
It's sort of like a Raptors fantasy team. Just build what you want here instead of just dreaming it!

TJ Ford

for

Portland's #13
LaMarcus Aldridge
Jarett Jack

*Adds some youth to our club*

-------------

Since Aldridge would take Rasho's spot, we could trade him for a back-up PG for Jose.

Rasho

for

Jannero Pargo
#27 (?)

Raptors Starting Five

Jose
Parker
Alexander (from #13)
Aldridge
Bosh

Not to shabby IMO

What to do with our #17? Well its either a PF or a C cause there are not to many others where we are. Maybe Lopez be a back-up for Aldridge/Bosh.

Then Paxson and Hornets GM Jeff Bower are found murdered in their homes.

Neither of those deals are remotely fair in my opinion for both the Bulls and Hornets. Sure the Hornets save some money with Rasho after the end of next season, but why do they give up on such a young guy like Tyson now who hasn't hit his prime yet?

The Raps don't have an '09 2nd round draft pick.

FYI

For all you cats conjuring up trades where 2nd round draft picks are being dealt.

This years pick was sent to the Spurs for the Greek guy.

Our 2010 and 2011 2nd round draft picks were sent to the Pistons for Delfino.

Our 2009 draft pick was sent to the Spurs Spurs in the Bonner/Williams - Rasho trade.

My first move would be to trade all of our fickle, whiny fans.

I'd try to get the Clippers' Corey Maggette, Brevin Knight, and Smush Parker for TJ Ford and Jason Kapono; then ship Rasho Nesterovic, Joey Graham, and the #17 pick to Seattle for Chris Wilcox and Mouhamed Sene. This leaves us a line-up of:
C: Chris Wilcox, Andrea Bargnani, Mouhamed Sene
PF: Chris Bosh, Kris Humphries, Maceo Baston
SF: Corey Maggette, Jamario Moon
SG: Anthony Parker, Carlos Delfino, Smush Parker
PG: Jose Calderon, Brevin Knight, Roko Ukic

-------------------or---------------------

Trade TJ Ford, Rasho Nesterovic, and the #17 pick to Indiana for Jermaine O'Neal and Travis Diener. Next I'd try to get Andres Nocioni and Joakim Noah from the Bulls for Jason Kapono and Andrea Bargnani.
This leaves the following:
C: Jermaine O'Neal, Joakim Noah, Maceo Baston
PF: Chris Bosh, Kris Humphries
SF: Andres Nocioni, Jamario Moon, Joey Graham
SG: Anthony Parker, Carlos Delfino
PG: Jose Calderon, Travis Diener, Roko Ukic

I don't know how any of this works for salaries, just throwing stuff out there. Let me know what you think.

knight would be decent enough in limited minutes to give roko a season to get accustomed to the nba, Calderon would take up 35 mins/gm, knight and roko could split up the rest depending upon who has it going that night, hopefully by the next season roko would be able to take over as the full time backup for jose, then knights expendable

accustomed to the NBA?
hes playing great in the euroleague and really proved himself over the last few years.
Back up PG isnt a HUGE role, instead of knight mideaswell get a cheerleader+mentor+pg back: D.Martin
Im not so sure if knight would accept filling the 15th spot on our roster

the nba is an entirely different game than the euroleague, some players can adjust quickly, others need time
if roko shows he capable then knight could be sitting all year or even be traded by the deadline
it doesnt matter in the least whether knight would accept being the 15th man (i was thinking more like the 10th man if rokos good but it dont matter), hes past his prime and wouldnt have the minutes to affect the game like tj last year so its not as big an issue, u dont hold a lot of cards when you're sitting on the end of the bench
